Hospice lets alot of things go...

Hospice lets alot of things go un noticed and does not investigatew complaints that are brought to their attention as well. A friend of mine was admitted to hospice and complained severeal times of being mistreated by a male cna by the name of Chris. He also said Chris had been touching him inappropiately as well. When I brought this to the directers attention, it was said there would be an investigation. To this day Chris is still working there and has had other complaints against him for the same things. I guess it goes to show that the length of service you provide outweighs any complaints that are filed against you and you can still keep your job for your length of service. Where are the patients rights? Why were these complaints never investigated? We pay for our families and friends to stay in these places, yet they are mistreated, touched inappropiately and who knows what else goes on in these places since there are so many cover ups taking place. I hope nobody else has experienced this while there as it is disgusting and degrading to even imagine a loved one who has to endure this as well as their end of life care.

My Families experience was not good

My experience with Hospice was very poor. Hospice made a mistake by putting my father in Hospice. They never spoke to my father's physician about my father's health condition. The Hospice Doctor signed my father as terminal, we were never told my father was terminal. My father drove the car into Hospice and walked in.I have had several meetings with CT Hospice. They had an internal investigation about what happen. Hopefully know one will ever go through what my family did.Hospice said they don't know how he was admitted. Hospice would not listen to my family. My father had just had a check up about a week before and his blood work was still in the normal range. If the Hospice nurse hadn't told me they use medication as a restraints. I would have never taken him out of Hospice. Hospice told my family we were in denial and he would be dead very soon.

It has now been 6 months since my father got out of Hospice. My father is home with my mother. He said "he will never go to Hospice again or have their home nurses come to his house."

It's very sad when it comes time for when he does need Hospice, I don't know what were going to do.

I believe that Hospice does shorten a person's life. I agree that a person at the end of life needs Hospice. Hospice has no right to end someones life as they tried to do with my father.
