DO NOT BOARD YOUR CATS AT THIS FACILITY!
For whatever reason these people think its perfectly fine to board cats in the same kennel area as dogs, with nothing more than a short concrete wall between them. We were going to board our kitten there for two nights until we saw where he would be kepts. Although it is clean, the barking dogs and close proximity would likely put a huge amount of stress on any cat less than a Bob Cat in size and strength that could defend itself.

I don't want to sound like a raging grouch, but if the inside was as nice as the entry yard of the facility, and cats and dogs were kenneled in different areas then it might be OK.

They have gone the extra mile for our dog. She gets separation anxiety and they have helped so much. We are able to leave for a short vacation or business trip and feel confident that she is being taken care of and loved.

At Red Oaks Kennel the customers are invited to the kennel area upon arrival and departure. The hours are 7a – 7p 7 days a week in which anyone wishing to view the kennel can come in without an appointment. It would be hard to have that kind of public inspection and have an unsanitary kennel. The dogs do go out and play in a fenced half acre yard and especially the more active, social breeds will at times get a little wet or dirty while they are having fun 5 times a day. The clients at Red Oaks are dogs and some of the dogs will have an accident occasionally which is tended to quickly since someone is at the kennel from 5:30 am until 8p. Red Oaks has always taken pride in giving the pets good care and providing a good environment for them. Not knowing the person who wrote the review or even when the dog stayed at Red Oaks it is impossible to know more about the circumstances that caused this review. I do hate reviews of this anonymous nature as the business does not have a chanc

Please read

Please do not take your pet to this kennel. They made it sound so good on the phone but when we went to pick up our dog to go home after 5 days, I was shocked. He smelled so bad and we had taken his goose-down comforter along and we had to throw it away before we even got home because it smelled up the car so bad. After we were home for a day, he developed a cough so had to take him to the vet and the first thing they asked is if he had been in an unsanitary kennel. I explained we were on vacation near Brainerd and kept him at this kennel. We ended up paying a $90 vet bill plus $60 in medication for our dog. I cannot stress enough, please do not take your animal here.
