On Sunday, 23 December 2012, I was unable to remotely open my double garage door. After failing to opening the door manually, I inspected and found that one of my torsion springs had snapped (broke). Being a DIYer, I immediately researched how to remove, order, and replace the torsion spring myself. I learned how to measure the diameter, wire size, length, and how to remove and replace both torsion springs. I found a site from which I could order the torsion springs for a lot less than I was expecting. However, I was concerned because my torsion springs were not the same length, as is the usual practice, and did not expose a color. Rather than gamble and order the wrong springs, I researched local companies through the BBB and email request estimates to three companies...knowing full well that there may not be any companies working on 24 December 2012. Having not received any responses by 8:30 a.m., 24 December 2012 (okay so I was a little impatient/bored), and because my car and motorcycles were being held hostage in the garage (lol), I started checking DexKnows. I came across Steve's Garage Door with five 5 star ratings. After being impressed by the reviews, I called Steve, not expecting anyone to answer. Steve answered and gave me an estimate that was well below what I was expecting for both parts and labor. When I asked when he might be able to come out, expecting of course that it would not be until 26-28 December 2012, he replied that he could be at my home by 1130 hours that same day, 24 December 2012. I was shocked! He arrived before 1130 hours and quickly replaced my 10,000 (uses) rated torsion springs with 18,000 rated torsion springs for the same $166.00 he quoted me earlier. He also checked my pulleys, cables, and lubed the the rollers for no additional charge. While I get a lot of pleasure out of fixing things myself, there is no way i would have come out ahead when considering the time it would have taken for me to order and wait for the torsion springs to arrive, the cost of the torsion springs, the bars to unwind the winding cones, and the time it would have taken me to do the job myself. Support our local small businesses and save yourself the grief, cost, and time by hiring Steve to do as professional a job for you as he did for me. As a 25 year retired Sergeant Major, I can promise you that you will not regret having Steve fix your garage door needs. Oh, to date, only one of the three companies from whom I requested an estimate, has emailed or called me...with an estimate for $100 more than Steve charged me.

He showed up on time and fixed the problem quickly. He had to come to my house twice because he had to order parts for my opener, but he didn't take a dime until the job was done. I felt very comfortable with him. I would use him again if I needed my garage door opener fixed again.

Steve was prompt, courteous, reasonably priced, speedy and had the necessary parts in stock to repair several problems with our garage door - what more could you ask for?. I recommend him highly.

Steve did a fantastic job on my garage door opener installation. He answered the phone on the first call, arrived on time for the install and finished promptly for the price quoted over the phone. Additionally, he adjusted the other garage door and linked the openers free of charge. I will definitely use Steve in the future and will recommend him to others needing work on their garage door. Steve fixed my door quickly, and did a really good job. I expecially liked how he didn't mind my asking him questions, and provided answers that helped me understand more about garage doors.He was able to repair our door, and made adjustments which made our door almost completely silent during operation, all for a very low price, which made for an excellent value.If anyone is looking for someone they can trust, who knows what they're doing with garage doors and will provide you with excellent value, Steve's the one to call. Steve well exceeded my expectations.

Steve responded to my Saturday call, arriving exactly on the time he scheduled. Not only did he make the repair, he installed an extra part, lubricated the system, leveled the door and made adjustments as necessary...all for the price he quoted on the phone. I would recommend him to anyone needing work on their garage door.
