ONCE AGAIN, THEY PROVE TO BE INEPT AND UNCARING.

I try. I give this terrible facility another chance every few years HOPING THEY HAVE IMPROVED, and each time, THEY ONLY PROVE THEIR INCOMPETENCE AND LACK OF CARING.

I went in for an X-Ray. I go to admissions and told to wait in a room. Surprisingly, it was only ten minutes before a woman came in to get me so I could be registered. I don't know her name because she never introduced herself.

I give her my insurance card. She can't find ANY of my benefits information on her computer. (Which is surprising, because the doctor from that same hospital had no problem. My Primary Care Physician had no problem finding it. The dermatologist from another medical group had no problem finding it. And yet another doctor found all the information easily. Four doctors over the past six months had no difficulty in gathering my insurance benefits information.

This woman could not find the information that 4 other doctor's offices found quite easily.
But THAT'S not even what has me upset about this terrible facility.

So this woman calls Blue Cross Blue Shield. I could tell she was frustrated by all the phone prompts she had to answer. A string of voice prompt answers for about 2 minutes. Then silence.

What does she do next? SHE HANGS UP THE PHONE, looks at me and tells me they want her to speak to a benefits adviser.

OF COURSE THEY DO!!! IS THIS HER FIRST DAY ON THE JOB? AND THAT'S WHEN SHE HANGS UP?!!!

She proceeds to tell me that when they can't find out what the benefits are, they take a $50 deposit and then they'll just bill me when it's all finalized.

I asked her is she would buy anything without knowing the price and just have someone bill her afterwards... or if she would give a car dealer a $50 deposit for a car, drive it away owning it, and THEN get a bill?

She thought it was funny.
I didn't

That was 45 minutes of once again, PROVING THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST RUN HOSPITALS I'VE EVER SEEN!

I had numerous appointments and procedures done during a 10 day time frame, ranging from specialist appts to x-rays, CTs, and ultrasound and a day surgery. Every single BB Hospital employee was kind, helpful and gracious - from registration, central scheduling, to recovery room. I am very impressed with this hospital as these were my first health issues other than having babies.

A grateful resident

I have been a resident of Bolingbrook for over 20 years. The former medical facility was outstanding but the hospital is absolutely awesome. Here is a brief synopsis so you can understand why I say this.

My entire family including myself has been treated at both the hospital and the former emergency care facility. The staff is warm, friendly, caring, quick to respond to what you "think is an emergency" without making you feel like an idiot. They "the staff" treat you more like a family member, friend or a neighbor rather than someone that needs them at the moment. I have been in hospitals all over Chicagoland and the suburbs and I am very proud to say that Bolingbrook ranks at the top, this includes Edwards, Rush, Pres, Uof I, etc. I could go on and on.

The emergency room doctors are unsurpassed in their attention to detail and informing the patient of the problem in laymens terms so it is understandble. I absolutely love my hospital and want to thank Mayor Claar, Doctors, Nurses, Candy Stripers, Janitors, everybody that makes this facilty work for their patience and service to the public.
