My husband and I went to CHF to purchase a new sofa. We were told that if we special ordered it, unless it came with factory defects, we would not be able to receive a refund. However, if it arrived with factory defects, we could receive a store credit in the amount of the sofa cost. We were pleased with those conditions...thinking we were covered. We received our new sofa and upon opening the plastic, found the cushions to be twisted and curled up on the front sides. There was no way to make them lay flat. My husband called to talk with our sales person or the store manager. Neither were in that day (how convenient) We were shuffled around and finally were told that a repairman would come see what he could do. (I don't want a repairman for something brand new!!!!) a couple of weeks later the repairman comes and says he will have to order new inserts but he's not sure that will take care of the problem. We might need to glue them in. (I don't want to have glued in cushions...what if I need to take them off to wash??? I didn't buy them that way!!) Oh, and by the way, it will take 4 to 8 weeks for the new inserts to come in and now I have a sofa we cant use for the holidays....How convenient. My husband called store again, and of course our sales person wasn't in for the day again!! I know how this will go, we will argue back and forth over what can be done and in a year, we will still have a sofa that we cant sit on and CHF will still be ripping folks off selling items they know from the start aren't worth the money paid, else they wouldn't have you sign a form saying they don't take returns unless factory defective (which they ignore). Don't waste your time, effort or money on this scam of a furniture store They could care less if you like your furniture if they have your money! They could care less about integrity and honesty or other moral values. We found out that RC Willey as well as Sofa Mart will give you at least 14 days to make sure you love your furniture or they will give you a money refund. I would rather do business with someone who stands behind their product than someone who knows from the start its a piece of junk and only "cares" about you until they get your money. Wish life had a rewind button!!
