Provided by YP.comDagwood's could be one of Bloomington's best-kept secrets. It has been around for ages on Indiana Ave, formerly underground near The Gables, but they also have a 2nd location on 10th St.. The entire downtown commercial bld they reside in was rebuilt, so the new location doesn't quite have the same history, but is certainly more modern and cozy. Luckily, the food is still exceptional. They make some of the best sandwiches in town. And for all my fellow "Reuben Oficionados" it is probably miles above any other Reuben in Bloomington. Made with fresh marbled rye bread, perfect kraut, plenty of cheese and a double portion of corned beef, I dare say this is too much sandwich for one person. It is absolutely delicious. I can compare it to the Reuben at Shapiro's in Indianapolis which has gotten national acclaim for their Reuben. It's really an excellent sandwich.
But Dagwood's has a lot of other hot and cold options to satisfy finnicky sandwich eaters. Their signature twist is using cream cheese on a number of their specialty sandwiches, but you can always order without. Fresh meats pile high and fresh breads make this place a must try. They offer sides like pickles, chips, pasta salad and soups to complement your meal. They also serve cookies.
If you are in Bloomington, give these guys a try. You will not be disappointed.
