They came to measure my floors and never called back. When I attempted to call them, I was not found in their system. After two weeks, when they finally found me after I called them back AGAIN, my quote was not prepared even though I had already chosen my sample and gotten the measurements. When they finally emailed my quote, they refused to find an installer. Completely unprofessional.

Over many years of owning an historic home we have learned the need for great care in selecting contractors, but made the wrong choice of Riemer for removal and replacement of our kitchen flooring with whitewash pine Armstrong luxury plank vinyl. They disrupted our home for 6 days on a project with only 1½ days work, damaging antique wallpaper in the process. When we made our down payment our salesman assured us a carpenter would be on call to immediately inspect the floor following the quarry tile removal, and make any necessary repairs or adjustment to the sub floor. Delivery of materials was scheduled for a Tuesday, with a one hour delivery window, with work to begin first thing the next morning. I left work to be home for the delivery. The one hour window passed: no delivery and no call. A half an hour I called Riemer, was put on hold and eventually disconnected, I called back and was again put on hold, only to finally be told Riemer didn't know where the driver was. When I asked if the materials could be stored in the garage so I could return to work, I was told they had to be inside the house. Over an hour after the end of the window the driver arrived and deposited the materials in our family room where we had to step around them every time we went in and out of the house for 6 days. Early Wednesday morning I noticed that the trim for the edge of the floor was several shades lighter than I had specified to our salesman, so before 7 am I ran out to Home Depot and bought matching reducers, so the job could move forward. The Riemer worker's first step was to move our stove into the family room, where it remained for 5 days. His next step was to tape up plastic around each of the kitchen entry ways. He completed removal by late morning and told us the carpenter would contact us about the additional work. We heard nothing. Late Wednesday night the carpenter left a voice mail saying that Riemer had not told him anything about our project until late that afternoon. He came early Thursday morning, but since he was already booked, said he would be back Friday, He completed his work by late Friday morning and told us Riemer would be calling us about completing installation. Once again we heard nothing. By late Friday afternoon when it was clear that nothing else was going to be done that day, I removed the taped up plastic discovering it had been taped to the antique wallpaper by one of the entries causing wallpaper to came off with the tape. When I called Riemer late Saturday morning, no one seemed to know anything about our job or could explain why we had not been called. I finally talked to someone who said the installer would be out Monday morning and that a person from the service department would come and look at the wallpaper damage. Installation was finally completed around noon of the fifth day after our kitchen had been torn up. The service department person came and viewed the wallpaper and the warning “Do not use on wallpaper” on the roll of masking tape, acknowledging Riemer was at fault. He promised that Riemer would replace the damaged sections from a roll we had inherited when we bought the house in 1984. He came out 2 days later, looked at it again, and said he would have to rent a steamer, and we made the mistake of paying him. Apparently with Riemer, payment cancels all promises, because we have never heard from them again. We'll have to take them to small claims court for the cost of the repair.

Hello Mr. C, I am very sorry to hear of your negative experience with Riemer Floors and that you did not receive follow-up within a proper timeline. After speaking with Carrie in the Service Department she has assured me that she is currently in contact with you to resolve your wallpaper damage and make sure the proper repairs are completed to your 100% satisfaction. After reading your review, it is clear that we did not deliver the top-notch service we strive to provide every customer with for 70 years. I have noted all of your issues to address with the staff and I assure you that each and every issue will be discussed to ensure proper protocol is followed and that this situation does not occur again. Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. If you have any additional concerns you would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Sincerely, Paul Riemer, VP

After Paul and Jerry helped us negotiate through a myriad of options we settled on a laminate and carpeting for a couple of rooms. As luck would have it, the subfloor was not conducive to a laminate overlay. Not to worry, after some quick footwork by Jerry, carpet was ordered instead, and installed without delay. Excellent Product, Excellent Workmanship and best of all, Fabulous Customer Service. Thank You Riemer!

I had a great experience having carpeting in our upstairs and on two staircases replaced. We worked with Paul, one of the owners, in selecting a product and were very happy with his expertise. The installers arrived on time and were very professional. Our stairs have the carpeting that goes through the spindles and wraps around the ends, which was a very labor-intensive job. The installers worked 10+ hours to get the job done. They swept up and vacuumed the carpeting when they were done. I could not be happier!

I had both hard wood and carpe...

I had both hard wood and carpet installed in my home. I decided to pay a premium price by going with Riemer, but I didn't get a premium installation. Some of hard wood molding was installed poorly, and the installers left a significant gap between the wood and a wal in one area. They damaged a piece of furnature while installing the carpet but left without telling us, The heavy furnature was moved back onto the new carpeting before the carpet was vacuumed, leaving a signifigant amount of carpet fiber and debris under our furniture (heavy furniture had to be removed by us in order to properly remove the capret debris). The installation was performed by subcontractors. If I could do it over I would have shopped around for a better price/service.

We can strongly recommend this company to others.

They replaced vinyl floor in the kitchen, laundry room and half bath of our home. Also, they installed new hardwood flooring in our foyer, and replaced the carpeting in our family room.Member Comments: Great selection of flooring of all types at the showroom. Vinyl floor installers did a great job cutting the floor to fit our very difficult room and hallway configuration. I had some minor issues with trim moldings during installation, but all the people at Reimer Floors worked to ensure we were satisfied with the end result. They promptly hauled away debris material at completion of job. Excellent company to deal with. We can strongly recommend this company to others.

I was 100% pleased with this company

I was 100% pleased with this company. The show room had more than enough choices to choose from. Our sales person actually came out the next day and did our estimate at our house. The two installers did a perfect job and were extemely professional. Don't believe the TV hype and call some company like Empire - who didn't even return my emails and phone calls. Use a local company like this one. You will not get service like I did from a huge faceless corporation.

They were great. I had very good success.

They were great. I had very good success. I had looked at a home improvement store and at Reimers. Surprisingly, the prices were the same. I asked Reimers to come and give me an estimate and they ended up reducing the amount of carpeting required by about 10 percent versus what the other store had said. So in the process I saved a couple of thousand dollars and I was happy with their installation. They were price-competitive and the installation level was superior. About 3 or 4 months ago I had a little area in the bedroom where it had formed a bubble. I called them and they sent someone down to look at it that same day. Two days later they came back and did a loose stretch because with time it had gotten a little loose and they charged me $100. When Reimers did the original carpeting, they measured the area with a radar type of measuring device and they came up with 2700 square feet which was about 10 percent less than what the other store came up with. The home improvement store used a tape to measure the area and came up with 3000 square feet. Reimer's allowance for scrap was 10 percent and that of the other company was 20 percent. Because I used less carpet and the carpet was exactly the same price, I saved about $2000 in the process using Reimers. I had used them before but a long time ago for a different house and I have no problem recommending them. The quality depends on how much you want to spend. There is a little thing that happened with them. I selected the carpeting as it had a nubby texture to it. The reason why I selected it was because I didn't want footprints to show. After they installed it upstairs, I could see the footprints where the installers had walked. I called them and they told me that it was because the carpet had been rolled up tightly and that once it was there for a couple of weeks, it would loosen up and become alright. I was nervous about it so they told me I could change the carpet if I wanted to. They would take out the carpeting they had just installed and I could pick up something else from them or if I wanted to go ahead with the same carpet and after it was all installed and it still was a problem, they would come and replace it for free. I ended up sticking with the same carpeting and they were right. The fact that they said they would come and replace the carpet for free was amazing.
