I highly recommend for others to not patronize this establishment. I was a customer here on Christmas Eve, and I ordered one drink for $5. Initially, my card was charged for the correct amount, but a couple of days later, the original $5 amount was removed and I was charged $40. After noticing this error I contacted the business, and was told the issue would be brought to the general manager's attention. The next day, I called the establishment, and spoke with the general manger, Christine Ramona. She seemed very apologetic and assured me the issue would be taken care of in 2-3 business days. After the third business day, I contacted the Rare Martini again, and was told by the assistant manager, Christine Ramona would contact me within a hour. I waited three hours for the managers call , but one was never received. For the second time I spoke with the assistant manager, and was told that there was an error in processing my refund. I was placed on hold so she could speak with the owner of The Rare Martini regarding the situation. I could hear them speaking about the issue, and the owner told the general manager to speak with the bartender from Christmas Eve, in regards to the payment. Christina Ramona, then spoke with me and was extremely rude and unprofessional. Ms. Ramona told me she would contact me once she spoke with the bartender, and that she would return my call between 7:30 pm and 3:30 am. She would not let me speak, and was very combative, then proceeded to abruptly end the call. I once again called back, and asked to speak with the owner, but was told by Ms. Ramona he was nowhere to be found. I proceeded to tell her I could hear him speaking in the background on the last call and asked for his first and last name (Which I later found online to be Sammy Montalbano). She refused to spell his last name and proceeded to hang the phone up on me for a second time. I continued to call the business, but to no avail. I then asked a friend of mine to call and ask for the owners last name, and she was given a sitcom character name "Fred G. Sanford." After, going through this lengthy process Ms. Ramona refused to issue me a refund, unless I produced a receipt. I then asked could they bring up my tab and price from the night, but was told they do not keep such records. I explained that I am not a resident of Birmingham, and would not be able to travel anytime soon. She continued to say her owner, would not issue me a refund unless I brought in a receipt. I STRONGLY suggest you save yourself from the rudeness and lack of professionalism of this establishment

Needs to be bigger...

I like it, but I think it needs to be bigger. I get that bars are crowded at times, but this place stays busy with it's younger crowd and especially on holidays! It's kind of hard to move around in there, especially when you're smoking on the patio! It's fun though, if you want to run into everyone you know there, Rare is the place to be! Very popular place. I give it 2.5 in my opinion!
