My family came back from vacation and found a flooded downstairs bathroom. I called John's Plumbing and they responded quickly. They replaced my ruptured water heater and the new one works great.

I woke up this morning with sewage in my bathtub. I did not know who to call but I have seen their yellow vans in the area. They were friendly and professional. They un-clogged my drain and everything was back to normal.

John's Plumbing harmed a ninety-year-old blind lady and a ninety-four-year-old man who cannot walk, neither of whom could inspect the work because of their disabilities. John's left their newly-installed pipes leaking and would not come back to fix the leak, uninstalled the clothes dryer and left it out in the middle of the basement floor where it could no longer be used and told us falsely that water heaters small enough (18-inch diameter) to accommodate the dryer and water heater in that space aren't made any more when they are actually available about everywhere water heaters are sold. You can read the whole horrible story with photographs and documentation at JohnsPlumbingBirmingham.com. Good work by honest, competent people isn't cheap; but, these are NOT honest OR competent people.

They replaced my water heater and my sewer pipe. Very professional, on-time, with fair prices.

The calm after a raging storm

You may go to my review of Plumbing 911 to get the background of my raging storm.

The service I received from John's was wonderful. My house is over 50yrs old, built on a concrete slab foundation without a crawl space. My pipes are under the foundation. My kitchen line had a break somewhere in it which prevented me from using it. It completely clogged up and the incompetence of the "other plumbing company" they actually caused it to backup to the point mud, water, and sewage was on my floors, walls and cabinets.

After the 911 fiasco, I had several plumbing companies come to the house and assess the problem, determine alternatives to digging through the foundation, and of course provide estimates.

A company wanted to pull out my cabinets, dishwasher, jackhammer a corner of the floor--well you get the idea and it would take about a week about 3800.00.

When I told John's vice-president about the other recommedation, he said ma'am I don't see why we need to mess your kitchen up, when can just dig outside in your flower bed, run a new line, and put in a new clean out. We don't have to do anything to your foundation.

I asked for the repair proposal in writing, which was promptly faxed to me before the end of the day. They did the work--working quite diligently I might add. They dug by hand and replanted my bushes afterwards ( the bushes had roots that were more that 20 yrs old, so it was very hard digging them up) Worked through lunch ( which concerned me) and completed the job, plus install new kitchen pipes ( which were fine prior to 911's visit) and voila I had a great new working sink. I hadn't been able to use my sink since 12/22/08 and this work was completed in one day the week before the inauguration. The cost $ 2500.00.

Professional, efficient, and reasonably priced. Definitely consider John's plumbing company. The only regret I have is that I didn't call them initially. I could have saved myself a lot of money, heartache, and time.
