Established in 1983, Inverness Elementary School teaches more than 600 students in kindergarten through grade three. It offers a variety of subjects, such as English, language, reading, math, science, social studies, physical education and music. The school has a parent-teacher organization that provides planning and implementation of a variety of fundraising activities for the benefit of the school. Its staff includes a reading coach, art teacher, physical education instructor, learning support assistant, computer lab operator, school nurse and custodian. The school provides meal, medical and transportation services to the students. Inverness Elementary School is operated by Shelby County Board of Education and is located in Birmingham, Ala.
