I was EXTREMELY disappointed in Shively's. They were recommended to us so we stupidly didn't call any other moving companies for quotes/references. We had furniture to move and a couple boxes - I moved most of the boxes and smaller things myself to save money. The 3 men that showed up took so many smoke breaks, I felt that a full hour of our charge was spent on them smoking. There was also some articles that were scratched in the move and of course we didn't notice these until after they left. I understand that things happen but was still upset. They had to have noticed they damaged my property and didn't even mention it to me or my husband. I would never use Shively's again.

Shively's moved our business, on a Saturday, and came in significantly under estimate. They were on time, worked efficiently and carefully, and finished early.

They've been in business for many years. Years ago they moved my home as well as my in-laws' home, with similar results. I give them my highest recommendation.

High & Dry

Approximately 6-8 weeks ago, I contracted with Shively's to move me from my 7,000 sq. ft. home and into our new house 5 miles away. I mention the size of the home so you can feel my dispair when Diane from Shively's called me yesterday, 2 weeks before my move, and told me that "she's not going to be able to move me".

When I originally contracted with Shively's, Diane told me to get an early settlement, so they could start to unload me as early as possible on day two of the move (one day to move out, one day to move in). I did as she told me and got settlement scheduled for the morning. I called to confirm times with her two days ago and she was concerned that the guys would have to work too late into the night. She asked if they could move us in the following day instead and I agreed that would be fine.

Out of the clear blue, she called me yesterday and simply told me "she was not going to be able to move me." Because my husband and I have used them 4 times in the last 4 years, I demanded an explanation. She told me that her husband Joe simultaneously booked a move for the same day and she would have to drop us. I was on her books for 6-8 weeks, moved my business with them, my husband moved his business with them, and we've moved to two different houses all in 4 years and this is how I was treated. I got left high and dry for someone who called them two weeks before their move date!

Thank goodness I called Adam Meyer Moving & Storage. They bent over backwards to accomodate our situation. I will be a life-long customer of Adam Meyer!
