A Waste Of Time

We started counseling with this agency approximately 25 months ago. Our home was in jeopardy of foreclosure. Since that time we have had 3 counselor of which none of them were helpful and showed little interest in representing us to resolve our issue. The first counselor never returned phone calls. I have to pay him a surprise visit after not getting him to respond to the emails, faxed and voicemails I left. When I surprised him unexpectedly he was shooting the breeze with the receptionist. He was extremely shocked to see me. And he was out quite frequently. The next counselor assigned to me also had a habit of not responding. Our mortgage company stated on a couple occasions that they had received our paper weeks later after we had given the documents to this counselor. Also during court proceeding she did a lot of posturing and never seemed to be organized or able to give account if where we were in the process. Eventually she was no longer with the agency which became frightening because we were almost at the end of our court proceedings. Next we were assigned to a counselor who had previous left but recent return to work for the agency. Her attitude was extremely negative to say the least. At that point I felt as though I was doomed. She had no success story to share and use words like 'unfortunately, I have never, they would never, I doubt it and its unlikely. I had to pray during our last meeting as I felt her energy trying to put a damper on my positive and hopefully way of thinking. Well, we had our last court session which could have turned out in our favor but she decided not to join us in a conference room outside of the courtroom. I was shocked. Her previous behavior was off to the left, but I found that very bold to not join her clients during the final session of court proceedings. This was a crisis and we came to this agency because they said they could help. There was a small technicality that I believe would not have manifest if we were properly informed. I am writing this review to alert any and everyone to think twice before considering to seek counseling here. Had I know that things would not have been handled and that there was a lack of professionalism and a lot of posturing I would have ran for the hills. Agencies have to honor their mission statement by offering compassionate and impeccable service. No one knows what situations may rise in their lives, so it important to give client a fair measure of dedication in order to meet their needs. I know they could have done a better job in going through this process with me. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed.
