We recently performed a major upgrade to our production line and a key component was the actuators (ballscrew, motor and encoders) supplied by Raco. We had a significant number of failures within the first 3 months and contacted them to determine cause and resolve the issue. They placed the blame solely on us and said their product wasn't rated for our industrial environment, which is humid and gets indirectly sprayed with machining coolant periodically. We purchased the 'waterproof' unit rated for outdoor service. They visited our site and saw the application pre-delivery and no one raised a concern or question at the time. Repeated requests to negotiate some shared responsibility was denied by Raco. I cannot in good faith recommend them to anyone with a similar environment based solely on their customer support and post-sales treatment of the customer.
