The service is horrible and the food leaves much to be desired. I was very excited to try it but left very disappointed.

Google Maps says it's 24 miles, 36 minutes from my house to Uncle Sam's in Hueytown. That's an hour & 12 minutes round trip, plus about 5 minutes in the drive thru and 48 miles.
I make this trip AT LEAST once a week.

I used to would not eat ribs, because of the mess involved. I would always get the chopped pork plate. My wife told me one night, "you have gotta try a rib!"
Needless to say, I don't mind the mess any longer. I have tried their ribs, pork, and chicken plates. They are all worth the trip from my house. I have tried BBQ from all over Jefferson and Walker Counties.
"NOBODY BEATS UNCLE SAM'S!!!!!"
Their homemade baked beans and cole slaw beat anyone else's HAND DOWN!!!
If you want excellent southern bbq, then Uncle Sam's is the place to go. Once you try it, no one else comes close!

The barbeque chicken and loaded baked potatoes are excellent. The price is also a bargain.
