The Gideons International distributes more than 1 million scriptures in over 180 countries. The organization offers expression cards with several denominations. Founded in 1899, it is one of the oldest Christian business and professional men's association in the United States. The Gideons International has nearly 280,000 members. The association also provides online donation opportunities. It distributes Scriptures for students in grades five and above, prisoners, and police, fire, medical and military personnel. Its scriptures are placed in various locations, such as hotels, motels, hospitals, convalescent homes, medical offices and violence shelters.
