We used Weltman twice over the last two months and I will admit they are on the higher end of the price spectrum, but the quality of the people and work was worth it for us. Today, they lost our trust by sending a Tech that inspected the heating system, suggested a new unit and contacted a Sales Rep that came out and provided the cost for a new unit. So far so good, except when they left the heater didn't work at all? I inspected the unit myself and found a wire disconnected, once I reconnected the wire, the heater worked. So someone disconnected the wire and I paid$52. for that?? BS, what a shame. The worse thing is we are freezing and needed to use portable heaters before we found the disconnected wire. It's just bad business, we were ready to install a new unit from them, but now?? Would you? Losing trust in business is bad business and Mr, Weltman knows this. Who ever pulled that wire, obviously does not.

Total and complete rip off company. I bought a new unit from them last year to replace my upstairs unit. This week there was water seeping from underneath. I have the gold service plan, so I called them in. Fixed the leak, caused by their installation. Then he couldn't figure out how to change the filter in my downstairs unit, I have changed that filter more than 2 dozen times. Then it is time to search for something to bill out, because the service call is covered already. Offers to clean the coils on my outside condensers for $900.00. The manufacturer says to just hose them off periodically. Then he finds a leak in a water pipe fitting and tells us it looks ready to burst. Charges $645.00 to "purge the water line", (open the faucets on the second floor) and to repair the connection. All he does in heat up the tee fitting and touch it with new solder, 10 minute job for a good plumber. The solder job looks like it was his first attempt at soldering, and a really poor attempt.

What a shame YP requires reviewers to give a star, they owe me a star because they don't deserve even a 1.

Horrible! Stay away. Wanted to charge me $1200 to fix my central air fan motor. I repaired it myself for $200. When i didn't hook up electric right (capacitor wire was on wrong, they wanted to charge $400 for that first, the part cost $28). They came out again and looked at unit checked electric and decided my compressor was shot. I had another repairman come over. He looked at the electric and said i hooked up 1 wire wrong. He hooked it up right and boom the compressor worked. He didn't charge me. Either they don't know what they are doing or they tried to rob me! No other way to put it!

From start to finish, everything was very professional and well done! Carmine is extremely courteous and very knowledgeable!

Weltman charges high fees for their services based upon quality work; not true. Weltman's service fees are out of line with the current market and service standards fall within the lower-range of any service organization that offers contracts for preferred rates. The technician was still unable to respond to my question even after 3 service visits. Stick with a dedicated trade professional to perform the work. Not returning phone calls in unacceptable in any service-related industry. $1200 to furnish/replace three outdoor light fixtures and $200 to fix two years later. After paying the $200, it still didn't work and they graciously offered to replace the bulb as a courtesy. You be the judge.

A routine work to change just one valve cost me $453.68 and a lecture how proud the Weltman company to be in business from 1962. So, 34 minutes of actual work cost me $453.68 or $13.35 per minute or $800.61 per hour!

Weltman is very professional. Jason W came this time and checked the problem out and came to the conclussion that the rag which I accidentally flushed down the toilet went completely through after test flushing and other testing. There was no charge this time as he did not take anything apart. I am a gold star account member and I think it is well worth it. This is the third time Weltman has been to my house for different reasons and each time they have exceeded my expectations. Coudo's Jason W. Thank you

Needed to have leaking hot water heater replaced. This is what the "Customer Satisfaction expert" said I needed, none of which is correct:



1. New heater installed (well, that's correct). But wanted $1700.00, almost double the going rate.

2. Said my gas line needed new valve and new line to unit-for code. This is not true.

3. Said new heater might be to high for safe venting (which is possible). They said they might have to go into wall to redo my venting at an unknown cost. However when I asked about putting in a lower/smaller unit-they said it can't be done. This is also not true. They sell a unit called a lowboy-same 40gal capacity, about a foot lower than other unit. Solves the venting "pitch" problem.

4. They wanted $50.00 just to come out. I said no way. They said they would come out anyway. After getting his estimate, I told the guy I was still getting estimates. He said he wanted to call me the next day. I don't know why he wanted to call, but I said sure. He never called. In my life, your word is your bond.



I think they were shooting to make like $3000 on this job.

In a nutshell, they tried to scam me. What makes this even more absurd in I am a contractor as well and I indicated-maybe to cryptically-that I know what I am talking about. Apparently, they did not take the hint.



Had new unit installed by Coraggio Brothers Plumbing out of South Orange. $1000.00 done-with all the proper permits/new 4" vent-and none of the B.S.

This is the third job they have done for me. They cost a bit more-but they are always straight and honest, and stay true to their estimate-even when they have to put in some extra work.



Note to Weltman. Please don't respond to this with your "sorry we did not meet your expectations" crap.

We were so impressed with the service Jason W provided when he came out to our home. Not only was he able to fix the problems we were having, he was very friendly and took the time to answer all of our many questions. We would highly recommend him and although we hope we won't have any more issues arise, if we do we now know who we can trust to fix it.

working with sales rep pat m was a pleasure. my ac went during a heat wave and pat had the techs here in 2 days notice. techs were extremely professsional and courtious. techs took the time to show me how everything works.

I paid a service fee for a technician to come to my house for replacing a garbage disposal. I was quoted a price of nearly $1000 to provide the new disposal and install it, and was told the job would take approximately 1.5 hours. I decided to order the same disposal from amazon ($207) and will install myself. You do the math.

We tried going another with a "cheaper" A/C contractor and it completely backfired! We went days without A/C in the smoldering heat and we kept getting excuse after excuse about why he couldn't fix it. We finally called Welman Home Services and they were able to fix it THE SAME DAY. I was floored, but happy it was fixed. They may charge a little more than some companies, but at least you know you’re getting a professionally trained technician that will do the job right, and not some cracker jack that talks a big game and only knows enough to get himself in trouble. If we would have just called Welman’s to begin with, we would have saved money and stayed a lot cooler. They are definitley my go-to moving forward. I wouldn't call another!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. CHARGED A REASONABLE TO INSTALL SYSTEM BUT DID ONE REPAIR AND CHARGED OUTREAGEOUS FEES. ALSO DID THE JOB IMPROPERLY. FEES ARE USUALLY HIGH AND WORK IS OK AT BEST. THIS IS WHY COMPANY IS HALF OF WHAT IT ONCE WAS. TAKE YOUR CHANCES IN THE YELLOW PAGES. THIS IS A BAD PICK FOR ANY CONSUMER.

I'm satisfied with the service we received. The tech knew what to look for and had our A/C operating in less than 30 minutes. We felt the price was fair and in line with other companies, and they didn't try to oversell us.

Some one over at that company HAS to be sitting there writing there own reviews, look at all the dates day after day! I feel like an idiot for not noticing this before I called . They came by to TRY to fix my heat, it worked for 2 hours and it cost me 1400$!!! When I called to complain I was told I need to replace my boiler. Why wasn't I told this before I spent $1400??? I am going sue the crap out of these people... STAY AWAY! Do your self a favor and call someone else!

Thanks to Weltmans our A/C is blowing cold again. The house was literally an oven. We called late in the afternoon to report the problem and fortunately they were still able to send someone by first thing the following morning. The repairman found the issue, ordered the part that went faulty, and had everything up and running the following day. This all seemed reasonable because they had to rush in a special part over night. The repairman called to let us know the minute the part arrived, and stopped by shortly thereafter to install it. Communication and customer service was excellent. It was refreshing to work with a competent contractor, and I will use Weltmans in the future.
