So many great breakfast options. Love their breakfast soufflé.

Hands down the best breakfast place in the Bay Area! People in this area tend to take their breakfast pretty seriously, so Bette's faces strong competition from the likes of old standards such as La Note on Berkeley or Zazie's in SF's Cole Valley, but IMHO Bette's takes the cake. Offering up American breakfast standards, Bette's distinguishes itself not by seeing how crazy or original they can make their dishes, but by doing simple things like eggs and pancakes better than anyone else.



Highly recommended and worth the wait. That said, the wait is nothing to scoff at - a party of two faces a wait as long as 45 minutes on Saturdays. If you're looking for faster seating, consider coming alone and sitting at the counter -- drink a cup of their top-notch coffee and wake up eggs, pancakes, and the morning paper.

I love Bette's! Whether I get there early to beat the crowds or later from a lazy get-out-of-bed hunger, Bette's never disappoints. I like the basics.....scrambled eggs done to perfection, breakfast potatoes that aren't boring and don't overwhelm, and good ole pancakes.....once in awhile, some breakfast meat or the salmon scramble......If you have to wait, get a cup of coffee next door, and it's free refills in the restaurant. Oh yeah, if you wait and really need to eat, get a pastry.....a scone or a morning bun. You'll still clean your plate when you are served!!! I always walk out with a smile because nothin' tastes as good as Bette's breakfasts.
