Sam's Point Fire Station provides fire protection, rescue and first response services for medical emergencies. It is a part of the Lady's Island - St. Helena Fire District, which serves an area of more than 120 square miles and a population of over 20,000 people. The district maintains a team of more than 60 firefighters and support staff members. Established in 1972, the Lady's Island - St. Helena Fire District offers fire, search and rescue and extrication services. It is a member of the National Fluid Power Association, Standard Southern Building Code Books, South Carolina Firemen's Association and Beaufort County Fire Chief's Association.
