Provided by YP.comI was an Altar Boy in this Parish from 1961-1964. The Church was still only celebrating the Tridentine Mass. You had to know your responses in Latin as well as all the different things you had to do. It was a lot to do when assisting the priest, whether it was a Low, Sung or High Mass.
I am now 59 years old. Those were very dear wonderful years and know precious memories. We had Novena to Saint Jude on Tuesday evening and Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Wednesday. It was not always Mass. We had the Novena prayers, a homily and then we closed with Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament (which I also served as an Altar Boy).
I am glad to see that the Church was not ruined during the Vatican II changes. The Church looks as beautiful as it did 50 years ago. Thank God. Altar rail, statues and the beauty of the High Altar and the Angels holding the lights on either side of the tabernacle. Simply beautiful and Solemn. Some of these Churches today look like halls or auditoriums. Sometimes you cannot find the Blessed Sacrament and everything has been stripped away, all the Solemnity, Holiness and Beauty.

P.S. I lived at 35-01 213th Street. I used to walk the 4 blocks. Wonderful days.
