I called Big State Plumbing to come out to my house to identify a leak under my sink. I found them on Angie's List where they are highly rated and advertise FREE estimates and $50 off service. On the day of my appointment(7/27/2015) the employee arrived and I showed him where I believed there was a leak. Within 2 minutes he identified the problem and told me that I had moisture under my sink because the joints on the pipes under my sink were not closed tight enough, and that was causing small amounts of water to escape from the pipes and create moisture under the sink. He said all it would take to fix it was "half a turn to tighten the joints and that is it." As he was explaining to me what was wrong, he went ahead and tightened the joints, WITHOUT my approval and WITHOUT providing me the FREE estimate that was guaranteed on the company website. He then told me that he had to go "write this up" and would be back. When he returned he told me that I OWED $178. I was SHOCKED to say the least. There was NO repair done on my sink and NO estimate provided, and he was telling me I owed $178? For what? I mentioned to him the advertisement on Angie's List and he took off $50. I told him that I still did not want to pay, however he refused to leave my house until I issued payment, and told me that I could call into the office and take it up with them.



When I called into the office I was told that there would be a resolution to my problem that day and to expect a call back from the General Manager. Two days later there was no call from anyone, so I called back and refilled my complaint. I was given excuses as to why I was never contacted, and was told AGAIN that there would be a resolution to my problem by the end of the day. At 5:00PM I still had not heard back so I called AGAIN and was told that I would not be refunded my money, because it was a "service call." I explained AGIAN that not only was I not provided with an estimate, but I did not agree to any "work" that was done.



At the end of the day, they have cashed my check(before resolving the issue), refused to reimburse me, AND THE LEAK UNDER MY SINK IS STILL NOT FIXED!

poor workmanship and an overall bad job. Stay Away!

I called for a repair under my house. The plumber that came out was very polite. The price that was quoted was resonable. I will use again and recommend to friends and family.
