Over the years, the number of credit unions serving the company in Baton Rouge dwindled to two: E Federal Credit Union (who underwent several name changes to blend in with the sponsor company) primarily served the hourly employees, while EXCO Federal Credit Union primarily served the salaried employees. The two credit unions coexisted with a total overlap of membership until January 31, 2003, when EXCO Federal Credit Union merged into E Federal Credit Union, making this the largest credit union merger in Louisiana history and bringing total assets to $150 million and over 20, 000 members. In 2005, E Federal Credit Union expanded into Ascension Parish with the merger of two more credit unions: Vulcan Employees Federal Credit Union in Geismar and Burnside Federal Credit Union in Gonzales. E Federal Credit Union became a community chartered credit union in 2007, opening membership opportunities to individuals who live, work or worship in the 9-parish area surrounding East Baton Rouge. Committed to serving it's growing membership, E Federal now has eight (8) full-service branches throughout East Baton Rouge, Ascension and Livingston parishes.
