Bartlett Small Engine has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced! They are rude, uncaring, inaccurate, make promises and then deny they did, don't care about anyone other than themselves. Unfortunately, Sears has outsourced all of the lawnmower service work to this Company and the first question they ask "is this a Sear's repair", which they immediately respond, "it will be awhile as we work on our own customers first". After 3 weeks of broken promises and no clear understanding when the repair would be completed, I picked up my mower without having them do the repair.

I have lodged a complaint with Sears and hopefully others will do the same, so hopefully they will lose this business along with their "customer" business. I'll buy a cow for my yard work before I ever use this Company again.

The only reason I gave them a 1 star rating is because it would not let me give a negative star rating.

These folks kept my tractor and generator (OUTSIDE and UNCOVERED) almost 5 months and lied whenever I CALLED them and never touched it! In all that time, they called me only once (to ask me to bring in an attachment). When I called them they told me the repair person who was working on it was out and would call me, the manager was working on it and would call me, and the manager was working on it and had it all taken apart, was out and would call me - but no one ever called me. When my friend first went into the store (for me) they passed the manager off for a repairman! Later on, my friend discovered when he insisted on speaking to the manager, that the person he'd spoken to on an earlier visit, who'd said he was the repairman, was actually the manager. When I went in to get my things, I found them outside, uncovered, untouched and with one part missing! The shop never apologized and did not replace the part they'd misplaced.
*****MY RATING IS ACTUALLY MINUS ONE STAR!!!!

NEVER WILL PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS AGAIN. All caps because they are grossly over priced for work done on your small engine. Then you try your equipment out that you just paid an arm and leg for and find out it's doing the same thing. READ THESE REVIEWS PEOPLE. I wish I had.

My experience has been the same ......The minute I told them I was wanting to buy parts for a B&S engine they responded with insults and rude behavior cause I was buying parts for a Honda. Sad thing is that I recently received the same customer service at Colonial as well. Wish I could give both a zero star and find a friendly parts store when needing same day service

Interesting reviews below. My experience there has been exactly opposite. The customer service has been great and my turn around times have been reasonable. Not sure if all the bad reviews are Sears customers only, but I don't have any complaints.

Terrible customer service

I wouldn't wish the terrible customer service from Bartlett Small Engine Repair on any person. I would avoid this dealer at all costs.

Some of the worst customer service I've ever seen. Apparently BSE has enough business and doesn't want any additional business. I've been to the store two times in the last few months to purchase parts and both times I found the front desk employees to be rude. The first time I chalked it up to someone having a bad day, the second time I encountered the same attitude from a different employee, there will not be a third chance.

It sounds as if BSE does this ...

It sounds as if BSE does this often as this is the second and only two posts about BSE. However, I have not agreed and will not agree to pay for the repairs. The owner called me and went compeltely off on me saying I wanted something for nothing, that I just wanted to have them diagnose so I could repair myself (funny thins is that it's a $15 service they offer). The day before, I had cleaned and rebuilt the carburator with the carburator kit bought at BSE. I had also replaced the fuel filter, breather, and fuel lines two weeks earlier. What's very interesting is that they then did the exact same thing and charged me for it. I haven't picked up the weed eater as I am still talking with Echo about the issue. If you have issues with BSE you should file a complaint with the BBB. This is what I have done.

Better Watch Out

I took my Sears pressure washer to Bartlett Small Engine. I had told the girl that I would like to have my unit inspected as it is not working and before a repair is to be done - call me first with an estimate.

Few days later, I get a call that my pressure washer was ready for pick up. When I arrived, I told the guy that I had requested an estimate before fixing. He said the girl did not write it on the ticket. Thank goodness it was only $45.00.

Sunday, I used the pressure washer on my patio, however, the tube that pulls the solution to clean wasn't working. Yes, the motor started but that was all. The unit only puts out hi-pressure water - no cleaning solution. I called the owner, Gary, and explained that the unit is not pulling the cleaning solution. He said we were told to get the unit to start...nothing was mentioned about the pump. I told him, I told the girl the unit did not work. I understood that when I paid and picked up my pressure washer ---- everything was working ---- what good is it to have water without being able to use the cleaning solution too.

He did not offer to make this right - only to say I could bring it in and they would repair that part at an additional charge.

THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIX THE FIRST TIME!!!!!

Shame on them for doing a half___ job.

I will not never go back ---
