Me and my familty came to Baltimore to spend a year as researchers at Johns Hopkins. We are from Brazil in a sabbatical that cannot be extended for a longer period. We search for a place for a while, since most people was not willing to rent for only one year. We thought we were lucky to find american management because aparently there was not restrictions about renting the apartment for only one year. We signed the contract and moved in, and less then two months later they were resquesting us to renew the lease for another year. As it is impossible for us, they have been subjeting us to receive people to look for the apartment that won't be available for another 10 months (now 7 months), while we are still living it. The first talk we had with them they promissed that they would postpone the visits until 2 months before we vacate the aparment. But now they just changed their minds and the only reason they gave to us it is that information was in the contract. But I don't think that any reasonable people would expect to live in a place for a year having people coming (some times with an as short as 2 hours notice) to inspect the the place where you are living, having no right for privacy (me and my husband work full time and we have two young kids). And we will have to endure that for another 7 months. Since it would be impossible to us to find another place now. Just because something is legal doesn't make it right. But they do no think to bother.

NO STARS! Absolutely the worst there is in baltimore. They add on BS non-refundable fees. Their maintenance is a JOKE. Literally two weeks for one plumbing issue- and over a week for the second. Which they charge you for- btw. They kept the previous tenants security deposit- but didn't do any work or clean the house prior to us moving in. The staff is RUDE. They are the worst- avoid renting from them at all cost!!

Horrible, horrible, horrible. If anyone from American Management, from the owner down to the shrew sitting at the front desk, told me the sky was blue I'd say hold on, I'm going outside to check. They were my introduction to Baltimore and fortunately everything else is great, but wow, what an awful, mind blowingly nightmarish experience they were.



Avoid American Management of Baltimore at all costs.

This is the worst company I have ever interacted with- they are lazy, and very rude and elitist about responding to problems with the properties, they charge for bogus things like having someone literally walk in and look at an appliance, they say that it was fixed and the person actually did something and slap you with a 100 dollar bill. I Hate Them!



DO Not rent from them- they are a bunch of rude idiots... seriously.
