Valley Light Industries is spread on more than 12,000-square-foot industrial facility that houses the work activity for consumers whose needs and choices are met in a sheltered environment. It is located in Irwindale, Calif., and is a nonprofit organization. It supports consumers working in a community based employment environment. The organization offers a variety of activities through its venture program that includes educational, volunteer, social and recreational activities based for the community. Its school-to-work transition is a collaborative project between local districts sharing students with the organization and ensures that their transition from school to adulthood is incident and accident free. In addition, Valley Light Industries assist the students with introduction to the professional world, counseling and support, self-advocacy, self-determination, self-confidence and self-regulation.
