Omg, this shelter is just awful!! The Worst customer service ever, so
lazy, girl sighing because I asked her to look up a cat I had lost on
a specific date. So rude and laughing at me because I said "how do I
look up pictures of them online?", tried but can't seem to find out
how! She simply wouldn't help me and I called Pasadena humane before
this one looking for my cat and lady was beyond helpful and did
everything for me that this lady would never do! Called a month ago to
report a dead cat in the street by my house and different lady I spoke
to sounded same, unconcerned rude way but gave her exact address! Rude
but said "ok, we will send someone out there". Watched my nephew and
came home about 3 hours later and cat still there, run over much more
of course. Called back and talked to a different lady, who she too was
not polite what so ever and explained story and she was rude but re
took all my information and finally someone came because I was upset!
Oh yeah btw, when called back 2nd time the lady I had first spoke to
did answer and told her "what's up" and she told me to hold on and
then heard dial tone! The girl hung up on me!!!!! So lazy, mean, non
caring! And I have been down there in person and the animals are
treated like dirt! Dirty cages, steaming hot, dogs without food
looking anxiously for some. Some water and just tiny cells they're
given! Not all animal shelters are cruel, dirty, mean, lazy, uncaring
and awful like this one! So many people out of jobs and work that
would do a billion times better then the people who work here! They
should be hired and the awful lady's up front should be fired!
Horrible! I'm gonna report them to higher authority, this is just
horrible and ridiculous!!!!!!!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SURRENDERING AN ANIMAL TO THIS SHELTER.
The staff are lazy and rude.
I previously lost my dog and he was taken to this shelter. He is chipped with our address and they never contacted us. They immediately put him up for adoption and we had to pay them to get our dog back because there was no other way.

People, please adopt or foster an animal from this shelter! They need your help SO much! Too many people in Baldwin Park throw away their pets here. Others let their pets run wild and they wind up here. The shelter is overcrowded and many (not all) employees could not care less. Consequently, it has a high kill rate. Do not abandon an animal here - they WILL kill it! The only good things about this place is you have a wide variety of pets to choose from and a bunch of AWESOME volunteers. Please consider adopting your New best friend here! Ask a volunteer for help if they aren't busy (they are often overwhelmed with stuff to do). If you can't adopt, please ask about fostering or even become a volunteer yourself. You'll be a hero for doing so!

they need to shut this place down. I can't believe the director has a job. I can't believe LA county. Shame on LA

I would not recommend this "shelter". All you'd have to do is anonymously tour and see for yourself. My Golden Retriever was listed as an Irish Setter. If I hadn't asked to tour, I wouldn't have found her. See was cowering and traumatized in the back of her cell. There isn't much effort to reunite or rehome animals. BP shelter is just a holding jail until dooms day. There are pictures of sick dogs w/o care on the web. So sad!!

My Kids and I Witnessed staff using same needle and syringe to inject both cats and dogs at their intake window!!!I had went to pick up my dog who subsequently ended up contracting had kennel cough and I had to spend thousands of dollars to save her, but it was too severe and she passed! I Despise this place with a passion. Also, they kill the pit bulls fast, so God Forbid rescue your dog quick! Horrible customer service. Worse ever.

I was very disappointed! I have stray kittens in my yard and racoons have been attacking them. There were five now down to two and the Animal Shelter will not help!! There website claims they help rescue stray animals!! This is not true.
