Established in 1935, Vista West High School is one of the largest of continuation high schools governed by the Kern High School District. The school serves more than 150 students in southwestern Bakersfield in California. In addition to continuation education for students aged 16 and older, Vista West High School provides an opportunity program for children between the ages of 14 and 15. It offers classes in math, science, history, art, economics, English, algebra, health education, computer technology and biology. The school has a computer lab, library, gym and auditorium. Vista West High School provides various athletic activities, such as softball, football, volleyball and basketball. It also offers transportation and personal and career guidance services.
