San Joaquin Valley College, located in Bakersfield, Calif., was founded in 1982. It is the second of seven San Joaquin Valley College campuses in the state. Located in the southern San Joaquin Valley, the campus serves students and employers in all neighboring communities between Visalia and Santa Clarita, Calif. The college offers business programs, such as business administration, corrections officer, health care insurance specialist, and emergency services and safety management. Its medical programs include clinical and administrative medical assisting, dental assisting, pharmacy technology, respiratory therapy and surgical technology. The college offers various technical programs, including maintenance technician and refrigeration and air conditioning technology.
