Great Location, Cheap Rentals

I was in Austin for business and stayed over in downtown for the weekend. I had planned a ride around the Towne Lake Trail and had heard all about MJ's through following Lance Armstrong over the years. The location is ideal for renting a bike for the trail as it is just a few blocks away. Not being in for some serious riding, I rented a hybrid for $20 for 4 hours which I think was a bargain. The trail was wonderful (if a wee bit crowded), the MJs staff was pleasant and helpful and was more than happy to point out their water fountain to fill up my bottles for my 95 degree ride. 30 miles later I was exhausted but thrilled with my Austin bike ride experience. I checked out the retail store a bit and I wouldn't say the prices were cheap but it wasn't highway robbery either. The most expensive items were the "touristy" goods - MJs t-shirts and Team Radio Shack items but that isn't unexpected. If I'm ever in Austin again, I'll be sure to stop by MJs . Maybe I'll step up to a road bike next time and really get some miles in.
