Born and raised in Houston Texas. The middle child of the 3 Fernandez siblings. I am sandwiched between an older sister, a college professor, and a little brother, the founder/owner of Neil's Bahr in Houston. First generation in the states. Parents from Puerto Rico. Beyond that we quickly trace back to Spain. Father: Internal Medicine Pulmonary Specialist. Mother: Respiratory Therapist. Paternal Grandfather was a Pediatrician. Maternal Grandfather was a Psychiatrist. Majority of the family is in the medical field. I was awarded academic scholarships to Tulane University and Vanderbilt University and ultimately accepted Tulane, because, hey, New Orleans! During my Biology & Ecology studies I most enjoyed ornithological field work. I finished pre-med early, in 3.5 years, which gave me a chance to work at Park Plaza Hospital, save a little money, and indulge in my painting. Before I was a doctor I fancied myself a painter and a poet. A potential starving artist who would live over a sibling's garage. I attended Texas Tech in Lubbock and finished in 2009 with a Medical Degree and a husband. [He is not a doctor...he is a doctor's wife
