If I could do less than one star, I would - they're scammers. They convinced us it would be cheaper and easier for us to bring our appliance to their store to fix instead of a house call, but it ended up costing the exact same (first it was $150 for a house call, then it was suddenly only $99 (after we paid $97 to drop it off to them). On our receipt (inc tax), it says they charged us $80 for us to drop it in, but my statement says $97, which is totally illegal. They held it for a month, leaving us without, after promising it back a few days later than when we brought it in. They never returned our calls as they were always "away on a call" fixing other people's appliances. When we finally got it back, it was scratched, dented and nothing had changed at all - it was still broken! But we paid them $300. When I tried to get them to fix it (as they are supposed to have a 30 day warranty) they outright refused.

I don't recommend this group. I had a technician come out. We paid our fee to have the issue addressed and of course they took our money. Told us what the issue was and that they could do this, but would need to take it in for the repairs. Was told they would call me to book it the next morning. Instead I get a call saying 'oh no, we never fix that particular issue'. Didn't even apologize for his serviceman flat out lying to me that yes addressing this would not be a problem! At least the first guy we had come out had the decency to say "I can't do this" and told us there would be no charge. Won't call this group for anything again!

If I could give them a zero star rating I would. THEY'RE HORRIBLE...STAY AWAY, VERY FAR AWAY! My mother purchased a wall unit air conditioner from them back in May. The listing on their site said it was for either window or wall mount, so she called them to order it and they told her that they had that model in stock and would deliver and install it on Wednesday of that week (this was on Monday). They told her the price, added taxes and said that delivery, installation and hauling the old one off was an additional $159. She agreed to all, and when Wednesday came and went, no word from Depew, no new AC, she called them to ask what was going on. She was told by an extremely rude man on the phone that the AC was in fact a special order and would cost $76 more than she'd been told. She asked him why, if it was a special order, they said they had it in stock. He stammered around and finally agreed that it wasn't, but told her they didn't actually have it in stock so it would be a bit longer before it could be delivered. Another couple weeks pass, she has to call several times to check the status because they could never be bothered to contact her you see. Finally, it comes in and they schedule delivery. When the delivery people show up to install it they inform her that it will be an additional $300 over the $159 they'd quoted her to install it because the unit was a window unit, not a wall unit. She showed them the printout wherein the description showed it to be both window and wall. They argued some, but still charged her an additional $200 for some tiny bits of lumber that they went to the nearby Home Depot to buy so they could install it properly. It's not her fault that the description of the unit was incorrect. That falls squarely on the monsters at Depew. So, the unit, taxes, delivery, install and haul away for a small wall unit AC have now totaled nearly $750. She personally went to see Mr. Depew at his store and all he kept saying to her as she told him her side of things was "I disagree" and "You're wrong". He was rude, dismissive and arrogant. His staff lied repeatedly and they cheated a senior citizen on a fixed income by charging her double what they told her initially that the delivery, install and haul off was going to cost. She told them that she was going to report them to the BBB, write a bad Yelp review, etc. and Mr. Depew's response to her was, "Do your worst.". She was trying to "keep it local" by doing business with this company since they're a locally owned and operated store. After having read through the majority of the reviews here it would seem, sadly, that her experience was the norm for this company. We will tell everyone who will listen, and certainly anyone who's talking about buying new appliances, to stay as far away from this horrible company and its rude, arrogant, dismissive, cheating staff as is humanly possible. Depew Appliances, you should be ashamed of yourselves for cheating a senior citizen on a fixed income the way you did, but I'm pretty certain you're not.

Admittedly, I'm a slow learner. Depew has now successfully charged us hundreds and hundreds of dollars in service calls. They refused to honor written quotes and I kept playing, like Vegas, thinking eventually the crappy over-priced Electrolux dishwasher they sold us might actually work. No. I've paid the last dime I will ever pay these crooks just to get out of my life. Good luck to new purchasers ans BEWARE -- these people make their money off service calls, like a scam.

Depew Appliance and Service Inc is the worst company when it comes to customer service and customer relations. And especially Mr. Michael Depew the manager and owner is the rudest and unprofessional person Ive ever met. He discriminates and doesnt care about your satisfaction as customer.. All Mr. Depew thinks is profit profit!! When he talked down to customers he doesnt take second thoughts.. After complaining my dissatisfaction on the service rendered on my washing machine which I believe their technician Steve misdiagnosed it ..Mr. Michael Depew's reponse is "We have done our job, you are on your own now. We dont need your business. Good Bye!!" I was so surprised with his attitude so I asked "Is this how you treat your customers?" he answered me "This is how I treat you".. I felt discriminated and insulted by his unprofessionalism. I couldnt imagine an owner of a business treating a customer like that.. Before I left I told him that I will report him

to Whirpool since they referred Depew to me and I would also report to the Texas Atty General. He just said "Go ahead do what you want to do. We have nothing to do

with you" I couldnt believe we have a business owner like this here in Austin TX.

Would you still support a company like this???

Wonderful appliances and service

I have bought several appliances from Depew Appliances and have been more than pleased with the sales staff and the service that I have received. This is a family owned store and they stand behind the merchandise that they sell. I looked around at Best Buy and Home Depot, but they did not service what they sell and to me that is very important. I would recommend to all my friends that they shop at Depew Appliances.
