I recently spent three months in the skilled nursing sector for physical rehab. which involved a trip back to the hospital and then back to Brush Country. I was well attended by nursing and direct care staff, assisted anytime I needed it with ADL's (I'm a retired RN) and felt safe there throughout my stay. Fire is my biggest worry in a facility and this was clearly one of the areas of top priority. Staff interacted with residents, nursing, aides, all other departments. The PT/OT/ST team is extremely capable, personable, flexible and dedicated to helping people achieve their highest level of functioning. I was given everything I needed to get back my independence. Administrative staff are very approachable and follow through with changes and corrections. The social worker is dynamic, empathic and invested in people. Activities are geared to meet everyone's level of capability. The monthly schedule is full of music, games, outings, parties, religious offerings, movies, Bingo, intellectually stimulating groups, crafts. Maintenance repaired anything I ever reported quickly and completely. Laundry did an excellent job of cleaning clothing and getting it back to the proper resident. Housekeeping did an excellent job. There were never any lingering odors or areas left dirty while I was there. These three departments, laundry, housekeeping and maintenance, interact with residents in a friendly, open and respectful manner. Dietary staff grew tremendously in the three months I was there through sheer necessity. No cooks so the head taught his dishwashers to produce some really nice meals in record time. :) Lastly, Leah, the marketing person, is one of Brush Country's greatest assets. She visited me three times before I even transferred in then continued to do so when I had to be readmitted to the hospital. She was open and truthful about what I could expect and was available anytime I might need something throughout my stay. I will return if I ever need rehab again.
