Do not under any circumstances visit this practice, even if your insurance gives you few options!! To put it shortly, I believe Dr. Lopez and his business completely ripped me off. Moreover, I believe the manner in which I was treated, and the communication of information were highly unsatisfactory.



My horrible experience with them began with me seeking a new dentist to help me solve some facial/head pain, which I felt may be related to Bruxism (teeth grinding). Dr. Lopez immediately recommended the very expensive NTI-tss device, which I had already researched. He described it essentially verbatim to the sales representatives on the NTI-tss website. This concerned me but I was desperate, and he guaranteed with complete certainty that it would help my issues. After some pressing I was able to get him to reluctantly put this guarantee in writing, before I made the big expenditure. After wearing the device without any noticeable improvement, I went in to Bocca Dental Spa to ask for the agreed upon refund. At this point he became quite pushy and angry, and essentially told me to stick with it, and trust him. I resisted and continued to press for the the refund. Eventually, he conceded and told me that the refund would be issued within 2-weeks. After one month and after seeking legal assistance, a credit was issued to me but only for a portion of the amount which my records seemed to indicate I was entitled.



In the process, the device was successfully taken from me, without a proper indication, in writing, (at the time of surrender) as to the amount of compensation I would receive. And the whole time Dr. Lopez repeatedly assured me that for him the money did not matter. I was rightfully reluctant to proceed with this practice, and in the end I feel this was by far the worst dentistry experience I have ever had, leading to a great deal of financial and emotional difficulty and stress. I could go on and on with more detail regarding my awful experiences regarding this dentist and business, but in the interest of brevity my advice would be to please...STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!

The Doctor was very nice guy, and the place does look like a spa, but that is about all they had going for them. I went to take X-rays and had an unpleasant experience. The D.A. was apparently new and when they were testing to see if my teeth were sensitive, the doctor continued to show the assistant how to work the computer with the metal poker still stuck in my cavity, while he wasn't even looking. I needed a lot of work done, so he said they would email me what I needed to do so that we could proceed from there. After I followed up three times and never got any email, I decided that I didn't trust him to work on my teeth in the first place. I suppose if you want some cosmetic work done there it might be a better match for you. I would not recommend going here if you don't have a lot of time to get what you need done.

I don't know where to begin, it was such a great experience. The office itself is beautiful, clean and relaxing. There's a massage chair in the waiting room and the decor is tasteful. It's just not the typical dentist's office -there were no fish tanks or anchient copies of "Highlights" and "Field and Stream."



Dr. Lopez has the most up-to-date, low-radiation x-ray machines and uses a digital camera to photograph your teeth. This allows him to show you up close what he's seeing. Also, he takes the time to explain what he's doing and educate you about what procedures may be needed and the options that are available.



I've never had a negative experience with a dentist, but this is the first time that I left thinking:"wow, that was cool."

I have always been aprehensive about dental visits because of repeated bad experiences, but not here. From the moment you walk in you feel at ease. The atmosphere is more like a salon/boutique than a dental office and they treat you like a real person with real concern. The doctor is kind and caring and doesn't judge you or talk down to you. I mean,where else can you get a massage and an aromatherapy hot towel after a cleaning or a filling ??? As long as I live in Austin I won't go anywhere else !
