After viewing all the horses lined up at 11 PM Saturday at the Driskill hotel there were 8 horses. I must say that the horses working for Austin Carriage Service were the BEST kept horses. Most of the other horses showed signs of weight loss. From the middle of a horses back there should be NO sign of a spin showing and if you run you hand from shoulder to rump mid way across the ribs you should not feel any bones and most certainly no peeks and valleys indicating rib separation due to lack of body fat. Austin Carriage Service had no ribs or spine showing. As a farrier I give points to their well cared for feet too. I did not feel bad spending my money on a ride that puts their money back into the business of the horses care!
