Took my cat in for diagnosis & treatment re: some upper respiratory stuff going on. Told me I had to leave a $250 cash deposit. Looked in my wallet and I had only $220. Offered to leave that and go get the other $30 from an ATM. Front office staff refused, and worse, acted real snotty about it. I work outside and wasn't dressed to the nines, and it was very apparent that they thought that they were dealing with some lower life form. Crappy practice, crappy people, crappy building.

HORRIBLE!!!

I have always had pets, and being a resident of this area for over 20 years, I've had the opportunity to visit nearly all of the veterinary clinics in the area. I had several bad experiences with this clinic in the past, one in particular where I took a male cat in to be neutered, and when I called to pick him up the next day, I was told he had died during the night of unknown causes. Several years passed and I learned that the clinic had been sold and was under new management and had all new staff, including veterinarians, so I decided to give it another try since it was so close to my home. I had a female cat, one of the sweetest, best-natured cats I had ever known that needed to be spayed, so I took her in on a Monday and again, had to leave her overnight. I picked her up the following morning and was told to return in 10 days to have the sutures removed. After 3 or 4 days, she still had no appetite, so I called their office and the person answering the phone was very short with me, and said, "well, why don't you give her something she likes, like tuna or something?" I tried this, but she still wouldn't eat. By that weekend, and I was very worried about her, and the events that followed will haunt me until the day I die. . . It was Sunday evening and she was in my bedroom closet where she had been the majority of the time since I brought her home, when suddenly I heard some sort of growling sound. I realized it was coming from the closet, so I peeked in and when I did, she flew at me like an angry wildcat! I tried to run from the room, but she wouldn't let go. She was scratching and biting me with a fury I've never seen in any animal. I finally broke free and ran from the room and closed the door. Her screams sounded like babies crying, and one would never believe that the sounds coming from that room was from just one cat. She was tearing through the room, turning things over and knocking things off the furniture. I was so shaken that I couldn't think clearly. I called my next door neighbor and she came over immediately. After 30 or 45 minutes, the screaming stopped and only a low growling sound could be heard. I very softly called her name through the closed door, and when she heard me, it started all over again. My neighbor was in total shock, and advised me to stay at her house until we could get help the following morning. I followed her advice and the next morning went back to my house. I called her name softly through the door, and again, the screaming and growling started. I called the vet's office and was told there was nothing they could do to help me and to call animal control. I had no choice. I had to have help, and luckily, the animal control officer was a very nice woman that was as concerned as I was as to what was happening. She skillfully captured her and took her to an emergency clinic, where it was discovered that she was burning up with a fever, a fever caused from a severe infection. Despite our efforts, my sweet little cat died. I was told that it looked as though a butcher had tried to spay her. There was infection in all areas of her surgery indicating the use of non-sterile instruments. In addition, they had used a form of anethesia that was no longer used due to the adverse side effects it caused in many animals, one being extreme aggression. I was so upset that I agreed to let the county handle the matter from that point on. I find it very hard to believe that this clinic is still in operation, but I will continue to share my experience with anyone that plans to take their pet to Tri-City Animal Clinic.
