I was hurt back in September of 2008 and I hired Mr. Monk in February of 2009 to help me get a settlement from my former employer. At first he was very helpful, answering any and all questions that I had. Then as time went on he was harder to get in contact with. For about 6 weeks I could not get him to answer the phone to speak with me. I got conflicting information from him THROUGH his legal secretary/paralegal. When I did finally get him to answer one of my phone calls, he told me that he couldn't do anything more for my case. The workers' compensation company offered $3000 to settle and he didn't accept it but he wouldn't take my case to trial either. It seemed like when the going got tough, he didn't want to put a little bit of effort into the case. He just wanted it to be cut and dry and very simple. He is not a very good attorney and hasn't worked on my side. I feel like he has been working against me. I still don't know specifically what he has been doing since February of 2009 until two weeks ago (August 20th), but it surely doesn't seem like he's done very much to help me out. If you're smart, you'll take caution and NOT hire Thomas Monk as your attorney!
