Tasty Mexican style restaurant in Ponce City Market, originally from Charleston. The food is good, not great - I did like the chilaquiles that I ordered, but not the best I've had in town. Known primarily for their tacos! The restaurant is relatively small, so expect a wait - however, if the weather is nice, the patio is pretty big, and you get some nice people watching.

I really wanted to like Minero, the new Mexican spot in Ponce City Market, but just wasn't crazy about it when I visited. The food was alright - the vegetarian burrito was QUITE good - but everything else was eh. It's definitely not your traditional American-Mexican spot.

We started out by ordering the Queso Fundido ($9) which is roasted poblano cheese and chorizo, served with handmade corn tortillas. This was absolutely amazing. We basically made little enchiladas with the corn tortillas and it was delicious. This appetizer comes with 6 corn tortillas so it was plenty to split amongst two people. I am personally a huge fan of corn tortillas and loved the flavor that these had.For our entree, Morgan and I each got two tacos. Now keep in mind that these are really small compared to tacos you’re probably used to like at restaurants like On The Border. These tacos are about 4 inches in diameter. However, Minero really stuffs these with ingredients so we were full after eating our tacos! My favorite taco is the Al Pastor. The chilaquiles is my favorite dish in Atlanta!

The greatest margaritas in Atlanta!! Do yourself a favor and experience a Minero Marg! I love this place, I usually spend my time at the bar which is wonderful. The bartenders are happy and knowledgable and never let your drink go empty. I've tried their tacos once and really enjoyed them. They're small so order a few! They make delicious guac and homemade chips too.

I wanted to like this place, but didn't experience much that made me want to come back. Seems like a case of style over substance. Highlights were definitely the margaritas and guacamole. Now for the lowlights: I don't mind paying for chips and salsa, but the serving of three salsas is tiny. The tacos, which we ordered individually came "family style" are $4 for 2-3 bites at most. Not horrible, but definitely not a bargain (not that I expected anywhere in PCM to be a bargain). And then someone got the burrito and it's ginormous. It could've fed 3 people for $10. The atmosphere is nice, if a little loud, and I'm sure will be great in the summer out on the patio so I might try it again.

Guac is amazing, and the margs epic. Also try the chargrilled chicken wings. The line can be long, but it moves fast.
