[Harbor Pointe Apartments is owned by GSC Apartments; the Better Business Bureau (BBB) gives the company a solid "F" Rating]



EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING APTS AND SERVICE; UNRESPONSIVE MGMT AND POOR SECURITY W/NON-FUNCTIONING SECURITY CAMERAS, NO ENTRY GATE; PEST CONTROL ISSUES; FAMILY DOESN'T FEEL SAFE HERE



A few of the many reasons to NOT rent at Harbor Pointe Apartments:



1) MISLEADING ADVERTISING: What you see isn't what you get! For example, ceiling fans shown on website not in all rooms shown; the pool is disgusting (see pics), not "pristine" as advertised; There's no way "Customer Satisfaction is Our Top Priority" as proclaimed ("Getting new tenants since they don't stay long is our top priority" more accurate)!



2) CHECK BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU (see pic) and you'll learn a lot about the many complaints made to the BBB - and not every dissatisfied former tenant files a complaint! GSC Apartments in VA - the parent company owner and ultimately responsible for running Harbor Pointe - gets a solid "F" and averages one formal complaint a month!



3) POOR SECURITY AT APARTMENTS: Company doesn't even bother to place security cameras in their own leasing office! My calls to "Harbor Pointe Security" went straight to voicemail and were never returned; Sandy Springs Police Dept here fairly often (not on patrol; making arrests/responding to calls) and it's not uncommon to find cars roaming apartment streets with pot smoke billowing out of windows while playing loud music; Cars regularly park in handicap parking spaces (sign states tow and fines for doing so illegally), but Management doesn't do anything; One woman who used to park in the handicap space came up to my apartment and was pounding on my door, threatening me, telling me I'd be sorry, etc. after I left a note asking her to not use the space. Our cars were subsequently vandalized!



4) HIGH TENANT TURNOVER - FOR GOOD REASON: My guess is 90% of tenants when I moved in the building were gone within 8 months! Property manager Rhonda Burtchaell Petty behaves in an incompetent, lazy, and uncaring manner about tenants; The office staff is unfriendly (see the Google review from other former tenant about Ms. Arnicy, the woman with a chip on her shoulder and gives rent-paying, Harbor Pointe tenants an attitude when asked to fulfill her job responsibilities); Ms. Rhonda Petty clearly supports Ms. Arnicy's unprofessional treatment of tenants since after multiple complaints about her, she behaves the same way and still has her job.



5) DISCRIMINATION AGAINST WHITE PEOPLE?: The behavior of some Leasing Office personnel may be due to discrimination. My child is the only white person on the bus to school; she's quiet and generally keeps to herself, never had problems before but is frequently bullied by kids on the Harbor Pointe bus; We are the only Caucasian family in our building. This is obviously hard to prove, but discrimination would explain some of the poor service we've received while at Harbor Pointe.



6) INEFFECTIVE PEST CONTROL, CONDITION OF APARTMENTS POOR, AND AWFUL AT MOVE-IN:: See pictures of only a few things wrong with the apartment when moving in. Door trim and sloppily "repaired" and bottom of bathroom door falling apart but Harbor Pointe just paints over it! Kitchen and bathroom drawers wouldn't open/close properly; "New" appliances advertised cheap and function poorly - Read BBB report on GSC to learn more about how they run apartments, it's SHOCKING. Experience we had not uncommon for GSC owned/maintained apartment complexes.



The only reason for not giving 0 stars is I haven't been mugged, assaulted and no one's broke into the apartment (yet!). I highly encourage seeking an apartment elsewhere!!
