About Daniel R. Meachum Atlanta-based Attorney Daniel R. Meachum is touted as one of the country's premiere litigators, corporate and entertainment attorneys. He has successfully represented a variety of some of Hollywood's most elite celebrities, corporate executives and, NBA and NFL stars; ranging in diverse matters in state and federal courts at both the trial court and appellate court levels, as well as in arbitration. Specializing in business practices, government regulation, litigation, sports and entertainment, Meachum boasts an unparalleled record of successful achievements, including successfully trying 122 out of 126 major jury trials and arbitrations. Meachum was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1984. He obtained substantial experience in representing local municipalities, serving as Chief Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia defending municipal lawsuits, and also represented one of Pennsylvania's largest educational institutions, Temple University, on numerous legal matters. From 1996-2001, Meachum has amassed a portfolio of corporate experience in serving as General Counsel for Concessions International, an Atlanta-based national food and beverage company, currently owned by powerbroker Herman J. Russell; and, by serving as General Counsel for Butch Lewis Productions, Inc, a New York-based entertainment company specializing in television programming and international sports promotion. Born in the Piedmont area of North Carolina, in a small unincorporated town known as Badin, Meachum graduated from North Stanly High School in New London, North Carolina. While attending North Stanley, Meachum became the first Black vice-president of the student body and received the National Citizenship Award from then President Gerald Ford. He continued his education at North Carolina Central University, graduating with a BA in Political Science in May 1977. While at North Carolina Central University in Durham, Meachum was named vice-president of the student government and was widely known as an accomplished singer. Meachum later graduated with a Juris Doctrine from Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC in 1981. As a third year law student at Howard, Meachum was selected as one of fifty nominated law students, out of 2, 000 applicants, from one of the nation's top accredited law schools as a member of the U.S. Department of Justice Honors program to work in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, under then Assistant United States Attorney Dwight Greene. After graduating from Howard, he culminated his extensive educational background by studying in Brussels, Belgium at the prestigious University of Brussels VUB. Meachum earned an LLM (Master of Law ) in International Comparative Law in 1985. Currently, Meachum is the Founder and Chairman of Daniel R. Meachum & Associates, LLC, based in Atlanta, GA. His law practice is an exclusive boutique firm that represents municipalities, universities, individuals, companies, nonprofit organizations, athletes, entertainers, and entertainment organizations. The firm concentrates its practice in complex litigation, products liability, labor and employment law, entertainment and sports law, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions.
