Today went into Batteries Plus to have a auto battery replaced. They could have easily sold me a new $140 battery, but told me that the alternator was not putting out sufficient voltage to charge the battery. They also recommended not going to the dealer for alternator replacement since alternators were so expensive there. Following that advice saved me several hundred dollars. Incidentally, Batteries Plus had the proper battery in stock which NTB did not. Earlier in the year, I went in with a home alarm battery. Batteries Plus had the proper replacement at a competitive price compared to internet shopping. That probably save another hundred compared to the alarm company for a battery and service call.
