I had my back pain for 6 or 7 months. I went to an orthopedic surgeon and he sent me to a physical therapist. I did physical therapy exercises for about 6 months but there didn't seem to be much improvement. Then the orthopedist suggested I come here. I asked him about decompression treatment and he recommended you (Dr. Castanet). I had low back pain that did not go down the legs. The pain was not severe. It was aggravating but not debilitating. I couldn't bend over as well and I did have limited movement. There seems to be quite a bit of improvement now. I can bend over and squat down and do the work I have to do. I'd say I'm probably 95% better. I have recommended the treatment to other people. I didn't expect as much improvement as I really did get. I thought it was worth a try and it paid off.

I had an acute lumbar strain a...

I had an acute lumbar strain and then, later, an MRI scan which showed a herniated disc contacting the right nerve root. It was a sharp, shooting pain on the right side, just constantly, constantly down my right leg to my foot. It was constant, day in and day out. It started September of 2006- more than a year ago. I had physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medicines and saw a chiropractor and then I had 3 epidural injections. The epidurals helped very minimally and very short-lived. I have a high pain tolerance. It was an annoying, stabbing, pesky pain down my right leg. I was so used to it; I had modified the way I did all my activities. Honestly, at first I was skeptical of the decompression treatment because I had done all the other treatment options that I was aware of. I went online and had read some of the testimonials. I figured I had nothing to lose as long as it couldn't hurt me. I think after the first five treatments I noticed a slight bit of improvement but it was still annoying. It wasn't until I had a good 20 treatments under my belt that I noticed real improvement. I kind of plateaued at about 15 to 20 treatments. Now the pain is a 0 in my low back and an occasional 0.05 in my right leg. Now, after 28 treatments, I am upwards of 95% better but I haven't yet started to do all my normal activities, so I'm still being careful

I was suffering a lot of pain ...

I was suffering a lot of pain in my shoulder and elbow and my hand was tingling and going cold and my fingers were going cold. I wasn’t able to sleep. This went on for months despite all the treatments that I had already done. I tried chiropractic and deep massage. Then I went to an osteopath but I still couldn’t sleep and was still in pain. The pain was 7 or 8 out of 10 and I couldn’t do my job at times. And I couldn’t socialize and go out to dinner without squirming around. The treatment has been awesome. It’s been great. I sleep at night now and don’t experience any pain in my arm anymore. I’m not on any medication anymore and haven’t been for several weeks. It’s been really, really good. I recommend it highly to anybody that is experiencing pain in their arm. I think this treatment should be available everywhere. I feel 90% better

I had very debilitating back p...

I had very debilitating back pain making it almost impossible to get in and out of a chair or walk or do normal activities around the house- it was horrible. It got really, really bad during the last 4 or 5 years but I’ve had it a good 30 years. I’ve had chiropractic. I’ve seen many orthopedist surgeons who wanted to do surgery which I would not subject myself to. I did have some shots in the spinal area- three different series- until my legs went numb and I couldn’t get off the table and I thought I was going be crippled by that. So I never want back to that again. This decompression treatment has been absolutely awesome. The MRI showed 4 herniated discs. The treatment’s been absolutely, positively the best relief I’ve ever gotten. It’s practically all gone. No more pain once in a while I get a little catch but nothing that’s going to keep me from doing what I want to do. It’s wonderful. It’s nice to have your life back after all that time. I was not skeptical of the treatment because I knew it was the last option left to me. It was either being crippled, and not being able to do what I wanted to, in the kind of pain I was in or surgery, which I was not going to do. My back reacted immediately. I had almost immediate relief from it. It was wonderful. There was no question. After the first treatment I knew it was working. Before treatment I had extreme pain down my legs. It was part of the reason I couldn’t walk- it was horrible. I certainly would recommend the treatment to others. It’s so wonderful to be able to get relief from something like this without surgery and invasive procedures. Before treatment the pain was a 15 out of 10. After treatment I’m down to a 1-2 once in a while- most of the time it’s a zero. After the first treatment I knew it was working. Before treatment I had extreme pain

My MRI scan showed I had an ex...

My MRI scan showed I had an extruded herniated disc at L4-5 compressing the nerve root. My nurse friend saw it on the MRI and was surprised how bad it looked. Just before I came into Backstrong for treatment, the pain was so intense I hadn’t slept in two nights. After the third treatment here I was able to sleep through the night. My low back went down my left leg to my toes and the pain was constant. Before treatment the pain was more than 10 out of 10. Now it’s about a 2 out of 10. The pain left gradually. I don’t know if I’ll ever get 100% better but this is quite a difference from when I came here. It is so much better. I have done 12 treatments but I can’t finish the treatment here because I am moving away. Dr. Castanet recommends I finish the treatment wherever I move. I would definitely recommend the treatment to others.

I was having low back pain and...

I was having low back pain and pain in both hips and legs. Dr. Castanet said I had a low back problem but he also diagnosed a separate hip problem that he saw on the x-rays, for which I needed to see an orthopedist. He said he could help me with my back pain and the part of my leg pain that was coming from my back but I needed to see the orthopedist for my hip joint problem. I had been to a neurosurgeon who prescribed medications but he didn’t say anything about my hip problem. My MRI showed a herniated disc and degenerated disc at L5-S1. After treatment I feel a whole turnaround. My back is 80 to 90 to 100% better. I think the treatment experience has been good and I would recommend it to others.

I was having extreme lower bac...

I was having extreme lower back pain. It was a greater severity than I had ever had before. It went down the left leg and the pain was a 9.5 out of 10. I was using crutches. I was so desperate for help I wasn’t skeptical. Before treatment I couldn’t even sleep. I was sleeping humped over an ottoman chair just to try to take pressure off my lower back. I couldn’t even sleep in my bed. I couldn’t even walk. I was crawling around my house. I got immediate relief on the spinal decompression table while I was being decompressed. As soon as the decompression started, while I was on the table, there was no pain in my lower back. Since the treatment finished a year ago I’ve been great. I’ve been careful to use good body mechanics. I’m a musician so I lift amplifiers and speakers. I lift with my legs and not my back but it’s been a year now since I had the treatment and my back is doing great. I believe in the treatment so much that I just returned today for the first time to do a booster. I want to be proactive and prevent going back to that herniation. I’m trying to be proactive instead of reactive. I can do anything now. I can lift, push, jump, lifecycle. I’m very happy.

I was having back problems and...

I was having back problems and deteriorated discs. On a scale of 1 to 10, my pain was a 10-12 out of 10. I’ve had that pain for a long time- 32 years. I’ve had tens units. I’ve had injections. I’ve had all kinds of medications for it. I’ve been to pain clinics. I felt relief after the first week of treatment. Now I have no pain in my back whatsoever. I had two herniated discs. I have fibromyalgia pain but the leg pain from my back is gone. I am able to stand and wash dishes now. We helped my daughter clean out her garage this past weekend. We spent four days doing that and before I would not have been able to withstand anything like that. I couldn’t wash dishes. I couldn’t vacuum the rug. Our bedroom is upstairs and I’m able to walk up the stairs a couple of times a day now. Alot of nights I didn’t go upstairs and go to bed- I slept on the couch. Today I feel 100% better. I am always recommending the treatment to others.
