As far as plumbers go, these guys are pretty great. They beat the price of a few other companies for a large installation, and on another occasion rearranged their schedule to get here for an emergency. Recommended!

We use Ayers Plumbing for our own home, as well as for our rental houses. They are always prompt, efficient, and fair. I trust them completely!

Awesome, professional service, especially if you have a historic home in the Intown neighborhoods. These guys were able to locate old sewer lines not on the city's official maps and clear a complicated blockage on a joint tie-in line serving multiple properties. They have copies of 120-yr-old sewer maps, which proved quite useful in our case.
I call them for all my plumbing issues in the house now, but this is the go-to firm if you're having issues with ancient sewer lines.

We have used J W Ayers plumbing in the past, and have been happy with the quality of service we received until recently, which has lead to this review.

We are long distance land lords to a condo in the Atlanta suburbs so we are at the mercy of the local contractors if something goes wrong. We loose money on the condo every month but we are upside down on the loan and are trying to be good citizens and pay our commitments instead of strategically defaulting on the loans.

The hub drain was leaking into the condo and damaging the engineered wood flooring. It was a slow leak, difficult to detect, when our tenant reported the leak, we called John and he sent a plumber to the condo. The hub drain in the condo is located in the same closet as the water heater, a 40 gallon, low boy, electric water heater.

The moisture from the leaking drain made it appear as though the water heater was leaking, John's team miss diagnosed the leaking drain as a leaking hot water heater. So $1000 later for a $250 retail hot water heater that didn't need to be replaced to begin with, all should have been good, but the leaking drain continued.

As the leaking drain continued enough water damaged was caused to the flooring that all of the engineered wood floor had to be replaced, at a cost of about $5000. as the damaged floor was removed water was observed leaking into the hall way from the closet containing the hot water heater and drain. John's team was called back out to investigate, this time the drain leak was properly diagnosed and repaired for $450.

While all of this was going on our Tenant was severely in inconvenienced so we gave him a month of free rent, which cost us another $1000.

So now were are into to a total cost of $7450 all because of a miss diagnosed leaking floor drain when it could have cost us just $450 plus a few hundred more to replace what flooring was damaged.

As for the one star rating, we approached condo HOA to see if any of the damage may be covered by them. They said if there were any common utilities that caused the problem, they would cover the repair to the utility. I had the tenant send pictures of the closet containing the drain and the water heater, from the pictures the drain appeared to be common to the unit above ours. Admittedly the pictures where not very good. Called John, sent him the pictures, because I needed a letter from him stating that the drain was common, he said he would investigate and get back with me. 6 weeks later we get a bill from John for the $450 repair, I injured if he investigated the drain, and reiterated that the HOA will cover the repair if the drain is common but I need a letter stating as such. He replied with, its not his responsibility to investigate the drain, pay the bill or he would send us to collections.

We have always paid John, in full, in a timely fashion for the serviced provided by his company.

So now I feel like we have been taken advantage of. John didn't honor his verbal commitment, and then threatened us when I asked questions. So use his company's services at your own risk but I would recommend getting competing bids.
