"Hi Cherece, Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry that you had such a bad experience with us. I know that you brought Niko to us because you love him and you wanted to help him. Our goal is the same - to provide the best care for your pet. Although communication can be particularly challenging in emergency situations, no one ever deserves to be shamed for seeking treatment. We all feel passionate about animals here, but I know that treating people with compassion and understanding is every bit as important. I promise that this is being taken very seriously, and your concerns are being addressed within our hospital.
Thank you again, Dr. Maloy

I have never felt more terrible about a vet in my life. We went in for emergency care for our dog who had an abcess in his teeth, grant it, it has been determined it was very, very bad and the smell was awful, but the vet tech proceeds to ask us in the most harsh manner, "how long has he been like that, and how could you live with him like this?! " We already feel awful enough and our dog is very sick. The last thing you want is to be shamed in front of the whole office. I was literally in tear. When you seek medical attention especially in an emergency, it would be nice to be treated gently and with care and concern. Not shamed and humiliated. Pehaps the care industry isn't where you are best suited.

They were horrible when I took my litter of puppies in my an emergency visit. I asked them to take temperatures and listen to respirations and they refused. They advised me to put the two worst ones down that I pointed out but I begged them to check the others and the just looked in the box and said they seem fine. I got home and not even an hour later I was losing another puppy. I know there may have been nothing they could do, but if they would've just checked temps and heart rates like I begged I wouldn't have taken home a puppy to suffer until it finally died. They were careless and the staff was rude and unhelpful from the second I walked thru the door. The vet tech Jenny was horrific, and condescending. By far the worst part of the experience.

I'll never go here for a pet emergency again, regardless of the age of the animal.

I first called AEC of Sandy Springs to inquire about their pricing/treatment options for my GSD Layla, (not sure who answered) but she took the time to throughly answer all of my questions. Later that night when my husband came home, Layla got a little overly excited & jumped up on him, which resulted in her catheter coming loose. When we arrived to AEC with our moody pooch, we were warmly greeted by this awesome Vet Tech. She went to the back and retrieved some bandages + antiseptic and came into the lobby to take out the catheter for us. Even though Layla was throwing a tantrum (wriggling out of her harness, trying to fit her 75lb body under a coffee table, etc.) the entire time, she was able to get the catheter out & bandage her up for us. When I went to pay, she said, "DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!" I almost started crying, it was honestly just one of the nicest things anyone has ever done. Needless to say, we will be clients for life!

no....

After being greeted by an irate woman who tried to drag my little scared dog back with a neck leash... the doctor comes out. He seemed knowledgeable at first until his explanation for why the dog was throwing up for 20 hours was... she must of gotten a hold of some pant***ies.... that was do absurd I didn't think he was serious at first..... not raid residue.... that couldn't have done it... just.... must have been pant**ies...

We talked with Dr. Biddle, the owner.

He was great.

He spent maybe 20 minutes [and they were somewhat busy too] with us outlining a strategy for diagnosing liver cancer in our beagle.

And it didn't even involve the AEC, and he didn;t charge us.

It would have later if we'd had exploratories and biopsies and all that, but he said go to the regular vet and get a Cushing;s test, and see if her numbers get better after 2 weeks.

She didn't last that long but that wasn't Dr B's fault of course.

Really smart and nice guy, he does care about your 'babies'.

The rest of the staff was just as good too, although before we talked to Dr B, we had sort of a high pressure person come in and ask us to say exactly what exams and services we wanted, but we had to ask the Dr., so they got him right away, and he was great.

Not good

Just a few months back, I had a dog that collapsed after a walk at 3 am. I immediately put her in the car, and rushed her to this Vet. I arrived about 4 am to find that the door at AECof SS was locked, and the lights were out. The sign on the door read “be patient, we hear the doorbell, and will be there soon”. I knocked hard, and looked in the windows for someone to pay attention to me. I waited in the cold dark morning for 20 minutes as my beloved dog lay lifeless in my arms. I finally drove down the street to GVS, and they gave me immediate help. The next day, I called AEC to find answers to why a 24 hour ER Vet was closed. They said that I should have called them on the phone before I showed up.

As we explained to this client when she called the next day, we lock our door after midnight for the safety of our staff. A simple phone call would have resolved the issue as we were inside attending to our patients and unaware our doorbell had broken prior to her arrival. We are open every weekday from 6pm-8am and 24hrs on weekends and holidays.

First ever emergency visit

Our beloved cat suddenly suffered heart failure last July. It was just after 6, our regular vet was closed and we brought him to the Animal Emergency Center. We were greeted by the kindest staff and doctors, who gave him immediate attention. I don't think he would have had better or quicker care anywhere. We lost our Bean that day, but the AEC will forever hold a dear place in my heart for their caring and genuine interest in doing whatever they could to save him. You could tell that Dr. McKenzie and his staff really cared about Bean and us. I wish this practice had regular patients, I would definitely take our new puppy here!

Great Facility

My friend recommended this facility to me and now I'm recommending it to you. I have taken 2 of my cats to this emergency vet clinic and received nothing but the best of service from the entire staff. They communicated in detail information regarding my pet ensuring that I fully understood everything. They are very caring, informative and have the state of the art equipment. I highly recommend this facility and it's staff.
