Please don’t purchase a car here! You will be so sorry!

Found a Pathfinder at this lot that looked perfect. They told us they always do a full work up on the cars before they sell them and have a free 6 months service on all their cars. Told us it had a new timing belt, tires and oil but when we asked for the paper work they said that they don't keep record of all the work they do on each car. Should have been my 1st clue.

So we purchased the car on a Friday night in late March and of course we purchase the warranty like an idiot. The car broke down the next day on Saturday going to Altanta in Calhoun, GA 2 hours from home. We called the owner and he did bring a part to us but it was a piece of junk off another car on the lot and we barely made it to Atlanta and then back home to Knoxville. On top of that the service engine light came on so when they brought the part I had them check it and they told me it was from where they never filled up the gas tanks and when we filled it up it caused all the dirt in the tank to get in the gas line. They told me to use gas cleaner and I used premium gas for a month. Complete waste of money.

When the car continued to be a problem we called the dealer again and requested a new part for the part they already replaced. I drove back to McMinn Motors on April 1st (2 wks later because they were too busy to help us over the weekend) and pay $83 for them to "install" a new one but again refused to give me any paperwork on the part but did give me the box that it supposedly came in. Clearly I’m getting the clue now but there’s really nothing I can do about it. Sadly we will be replacing a part of the fan pulley this weekend again because the mechanic says it's bad (McMinn replaced the fan bracket but the fan is wobbling and was installed wrong and my car still sounds like a jet engine taking off even when idoling). McMinn Motors has refused to help us and all they will say is we purchased the car as is. I guess because we bought the warranty we don’t have the 6 month service with them I guess who really knows. That will be another $150 for the part and $$ for the labor that they said they fixed! We trusted them when they told us if we ever need any parts or service they would order them tax free for us. Don’t fall for anything they tell you.

We have wasted so much money on this car. We now realize that they lied again according to the mechanic and must have removed the code when we were looking at the car because it wasn’t bad gas but the catalytic converter. The damage is so bad it’s not something that has happened since we have had the car. And of course that is NOT covered on the $1000 warranty that we purchased. So we will be spending another $1000 for a car I purchased 2 months ago.

I wished I never purchased a car from there and will continue to spread the word. If you want to contact me I can be reached at rebegill00@gmail.com. Maybe if there is more of us out there we can do something about them. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.
