Chris Parent of Transitional Xscapes reached out to me when I posted a project on Thumbtack.com. I paid Chris up front for supplies for a project at the beginning of May - 2016. Our contract was structured in such a way that the work was to be completed by the end of May. It is now the end of September and Chris Parent is no where to be found. The only work that has been completed to date is some demo of an existing plant bed, wire mesh around the porch, and a set of temporary steps. Chris' scope was to build a brick veneer around the porch and build new brick steps with flagstone treads.

Christopher Parent found me through a website called Thumbtack on 11 Sept 2015. I told him what I needed and he provided me a quote. Being that this would involve the next door landlord, I had to get their permission and buy in to get the work completed. Work supposedly began on 5 Dec 2015. He told me he needed ALL of the money before the agreed upon date. I trusted him because of the contract both written and verbally. After endless lies and deceit, the work has yet to be completed. I have tenants in this home and have been trying to sell this property to them but this eye sore caused them to turn it down. L&I has fined me due to his negligence in completing this work. If I could go back to day one, I would find a reliable contractor. He took advantage of me. I am in the US Air Force and took advantage of my time away from home. I even filed with the BBB earlier this year. Christopher Parent is a liar and a crook and SHOULD NEVER BE TRUSTED!!!!!! Do not fall for his lies!

We hired Transitional Xscapes 2 months ago to begin a large Masonry project. We gave Christopher Parent (owner) a hefty deposit of $8000.00 He advised us he needed the deposits so that he could purchase material and pull the necessary permits through L&I and the City of Philadelphia. Two months later after numerous "delays" of why he couldn't start (still didn't receive permits, city was slow, truck broke down twice, etc.) he told us he finally received the permit and was going to begin.... Chris did not begin the job. I then sat down with L&I/ City of philadelphia who informed me that there was no permit at all nor had one ever been submitted for. We contacted the Transitional Xscapes several times (by phone email and texts), and we never heard from Christopher Parent or anyone from Transitional Xscapes. We plan to take this to every level necessary to get our money refunded and make sure this company and its owner does not effect others in the future.
