We've been shopping here for years. Came here for the low prices, and stayed for the cheerful atmosphere and friendly service. Today I want to add a joyful shout-out in praise of Tiffany (5 yrs. service) and Cassie (1 yr. service) at the Wayland store: Tiffany was bagging and, when she found that a package of cheese I'd bought was spoiled, she not only pointed it out, she went and got a new one for me. Now that's better than excellent service-- it's caring for the customer like family! Thank you, Market Basket!

I. Love working at market basket in Ashland

Sure, this store is smaller than the average Newer Market Basket but I have been shopping this location for years now and I absolutely love it. I actually work for the company and I have seen both meet and produce in other locations that are not super fresh. I find that because this store is smaller and incredibly busy that both the meet and produce has such a high turnover that it is always incredibly fresh. Also, I am a big fish and seafood lover and once again, because it is such a busy store the fish and seafood are always fresher and the people that work in that department are highly skilled because they always have such a high volume of customers. Once again, I will not disclose which location I work at but when it comes to purchasing meet, fish or produce I will go out of my way to shop at the Ashland location over the store I actually work in.

Yes, it can be crowded, but that's because the prices are hands down the lowest in area. And because its always so busy, their deli and produce are the freshest around, bar none.



If you just shop at off times, you can usually avoid the crowd.



I don't; agree with the other reviewer about it being dirty or damp. That's simply not true at all.



A lot of Brazilians work there, but most speak English. A few don't , but that shouldn't put you off. I have ALWAYS found their cashiers, managers and stock boys extremely friendly and eager to help should you need to locate something or have them check to se if they have additional stock out back. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because it can be crowded. I wish they would expand the size of the store - it could certainly support the additional space.

I refuse to shop in the Ashland Market Basket! You can't even move in that store! It smells & it's dirty. No one speak English there, not the customers or the employees.
