We were referred to this practice by our pediatrician. We received neuropsychological diagnostic testing to address our son's learning and behavior problems. The testing results were amazing and FINALLY we were given direction on what do to. We stayed on for counseling and psychiatric treatments at the practice, and we are pleased beyond our expectations. Our son is doing much better and will start out the school year on the right foot and with the rigtht services in place. We highly recommend APPS.

Dr. Mike (Oberschneider) is excellent. We came to see Dr. Mike on the recommendation of a trusted friend after 5 years of being told by "experts" and teachers that our child has ADHD. We viewed, and still do, medicine as a last resort and only if administered by someone we trust. Prior to seeing Dr. Mike, we tried many interventions, which helped but more was needed. Dr. Mike took the time to get to know our child before making any recommendations or diagnosing. We couldn't be happier with Dr. Mike's thoughtfullness and straight forward behavior modification techniques. We would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Michael Oberschneider has been a tremendous asset to our family. He worked with my three children for approxinately 2 years while they were in preschool. "Dr. Mike" helped me learn how to parent 3 extremely challenging children. I used to carry a notebook to our appointments and looked forward to our weekly sessions. He would always greet us with a friendly "hello" and ask how things were going since our last session. Dr. Mike would often provide reasonable suggestions and strategies to sue for the existing problems I was experiencing with the trials and tributes of parenting that week. All of my children enjoyed working with Dr. Mike. They enjoyed getting a small treat from him after he worked with them. My children still remember him. He made a positive and lasting impression on them. Because of Dr. Mike we learned how to be better parents and how to help our children learn how to deal with their difficult emotions and challenges within their lives. Amazing therapist!!!

"Dr. Mike" Oberschneider was our son's therapist,and he helped my son and our family through a difficult time. We feel that he went above and beyond his role in working with my son's teachers, psychiatrist and others. My son is doing well now and no longer needs to see Dr. Oberschneider. Dr. Mike is very focused on what is the cause to your childs problem. He focuses on the fact that your child is sensitive and looks for ways to emotionally help the parents to help the child manage their behavior. Teaching the child problem solving skills is also extremely helpful and to me shows that Dr. Mike is tuned into the children he treats and is fully focused on helping children learn to help themselves.

Dr. Oberschneider and the staff at APS have been there for me and my family now for several years, and have helped us tremendously with a lot of family and personal issues. Dr. Mike is the best at what he does. In a very short period of time, he learns your circumstances and conducts his sessions without looking at file notes. He remembers events and issues, and is proactive in his therapy methodology, based on the individuals needs as he sees them. His supporting staff is equally competent and dedicated. In the world of autism, there are not enough people who get it. Dr. Michael Obershneider does get it He has treated my son, Andrew, with the respect, empathy, and professional manner that Andrew needs. Andrew has been going through a really rough stage in his life. He is transitioning into adulthood. He doesnt like it and has made everyone around him not like it either. Since weve moved to this area, Andrew has been misdiagnosed, misunderstood and mistreated. Dr. Oberschneider recognized the turmoil Andrew was going through and gave him the respect Andrew needed to start his transition in a more positive way. With empathy, Dr. Oberschneider developed a relationship with Andrew based on trust and friendship. Because of this, Andrew is now comfortable talking about his obstacles. Dr. Oberschneider has also been extremely supportive to our family. He understands that families are complex and he has assisted us with Andrew in many ways.

Dr. Oberschneider is a great Psychologist to have because of his extensive expertise in helping health care professionals in different situations. Comparing to others, he is understanding, caring, supportive, and always with a sense of reason. The psychological testing offered will be the most scientifically sound and objective that you can find. The counseling also works well in real life situations.

5 Star Rating! Dr. Michael Oberschneider was referred to us by my attorney. I went through a horrible divorce last year and needed someone to navigate me through it. Beyond Dr. Oberschneider, Ashburn Psychological Services has a top notch team of specialist who provide a variety of services. The practice supported us beautifully through our difficult time. My kids received therapy, I received parent guidance, and I also received forensic services for the visitation and custody matters during the divorce. My family is doing great now, and I have since referred several friends and neighbors to this practice. Best mental health practice in Northern Virginia! Dr. Michael Oberschneider and his team were referred to us by our pediatrician. We have seen so many counselors and therapists over the years that we were skeptical that anyone could help us, so we first reviewed his bio. We were impressed with Dr. Oberschneider's credentials; that he is a Washingtonian Magazine rated "Top Psychologist" and that he has appeared on Good Morning America and has written for the Washington Post and elsewhere as a mental health expert.
