Premier Theatre Company is a non-profit theatre and education program that works to bring the gift of visual and performing arts to the people of New Jersey. By fostering new playwrights and combining professional knowledge with amateur talent, we aim to encourage physical, mental and emotional growth in the hearts of the persons involved in our endeavors. We strive to build personal confidence levels, imaginations and intellectual exposure, all the while forming a bonding relationship with the members of the community. Our key goal is to assist new generations in keeping the arts alive by promoting and encouraging the creative instinct we believe every individual possesses, while exposing the community to quality entertainment. History of The Premier Theatre Company Premier Theatre Company is proud to be celebrating their 25th year of entertainment. Founded by Producer/Director Mark Fleming, the company has attained and surpassed many New Jersey theater milestones which have left a lasting impression on countless audiences. It all began with four acclaimed performances of Sunday in the Park with George, the first company in the world to present the show after its run on Broadway. Today, over 600 talented individuals from the tri-state area audition for the opportunity to spend a season onstage with Premier; a far cry from the 20 dedicated performers who showed up that first season. Premier Theatre Co now presents four to eight shows a season, with numerous concerts and cabarets throughout the year. Premier Theatre Company strives to bring the best in entertainment to the Jersey Shore. This includes the pleasure of working with Tony and Emmy Award winning and nominated actors and actresses such as famed American Idol and Rock of Ages star Constantine Maroulis, recording artist and Tony Award winner Debbie Shapiro-Gravitte, Emmy nominee James DePaiva of One Life to Live and Adrienne Barbeau, whose credits include Broadway (Rizzo in original production of Grease ), TV (Maude with Beatrice Arthur, HBO's Carnavale and currently General Hospital ) and Film (The Fog, Escape From New York, and Swamp Thing to name a few ). Additional performers include Law and Order's detective and Broadway's Cabaret lead, Milena Govich, as well as, renowned television and stage writers Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore. The most recent star to emerge from Premier Theatre Company is Jesse Eisenberg, seen in Zombieland, The Squid and the Whale, Adventureland, and the new film based off of the recent Facebook phenomenon, The Social Network. As a child, Eisenberg got his start in acting being featured on the Premier stage in a number of shows, including Oliver and Peter Pan. In many different ways Premier Theatre Company and Mark Fleming have been able to give back to the community that has helped them to grow and shape their company over the years. By donating a number of tickets to each production to non-profit organizations, they provide an exposure to the arts that otherwise would not be possible. Premier Theatre Company also participates in fundraising events for such organizations and groups as The Madonna House of Neptune, the families of the United States Troops, F.R.A., and many others. Premier has also started working to help raise money and awareness for multiple diseases and disabilities and those less fortunate. This affords a marketing opportunity to further reach out to the community at large. With the support of the many volunteers and experienced staff, Premier Theatre Company goes above and beyond the expectations and standards of theatre. The company has been hugely successful to fly through 25 straight seasons of exemplary entertainment. Based on its history, Premier Theatre Company has, and will always have a strong connection to Asbury Park and continue to believe in the wonderful opportunities Asbury Park has to offer everyone. -Provided performers, decorations, and entertainment for Boys and Girls Club gala at the Berkley -Establ
