Buyer beware! This store has t...

Buyer beware! This store has the rudest employees and the very worst customer service I've ever experienced. I made the mistake of purchasing an airplane from this store as a Christmas gift for my son. When we opened the box and took everything out, the controller handle had a crack and just pulled right off. Then we noticed that the back of the tail was broken. This was easy since it's nothing but a flimsy piece of styrofoam. As if that wasn't enough, it didn't come with wheels! Can you imagine? How do you fly a remote control plane with a broken control, broken tail and no wheels? And of course you can imagine how disappointed my son was on Christmas morning. We left for vacation the next day so couldn't get back to the store until yesterday. I was absolutely shocked as how we were treated. Talking to these people (the old man in particular) was like talking to a robot. From the minute I showed him the plane, he insisted the plane was flown. That was the first thing out of his mouth, just like he rehearses it for everyone. The plane was not flown and could NOT BE flown. Then he tried to say there was glue on the propeller, implying that we broke it ourselves and then tried to glue it. My husband made him open other boxes and there was a bit of glue on ALL the other propellers too. So then he switched his story to saying that there were scuff marks on the propeller from being flown and kept pointing to absolutely nothing. There isn't a single mark on that plane, so we asked him to show us where these marks were. He couldn't but just kept repeating, like a robot, that there were scuff marks and the plane was flown. It was like banging our heads against a wall! In the end, he wouldn't even get the owner on the phone for us to speak with him, saying that the owner gave him authority to make decisions and he wasn't going to do anything for us. No refund, no exchange, not even ordering the broken parts! We paid $80.00 for a piece of flimsy broken styrofoam. They have a sign by the register that with any purchase you make, you have to deal with the manufacturer and not them, but that manufacturer sells exclusively to Hobby Town and their website says to contact the store where it was purchased. So it's an endless loop of ZERO customer service. Any good reviews this store has must be employees or people who had no trouble at all with their purchase. So if you value your money, you will buy from a retailer that has a return/exchange policy for broken or defective products. As I said in my opening line, buyer beware of Hobby Town in Apex!

Great store

I stopped by this store today to get some model paint for a project with my son on his Nerf gun and even though I was only buying a $3 paint, they spent plenty of time helping me understand my choices. I was very surprised at the selection of things they carry - it's far more than just what you'd imagine. They had everything from Airsoft guns to boardgames. If you're looking for something entertaining for your kids, it's worth checking out.

This place was great!!!

Bought my blade heli there. Was able to get replacement blades easy enough (since of course I crashed too hard). Staff was helpful-since I'm fairly new to this. The owner, Greg, is a great guy.

Store has so much, way bigger than other hobby places I've seen in the area. Were even able to get some parts shipped to store (no shipping cost is nice).

Phone worked fine when I called. Perhaps you dialed wrong?
