Founded in 1910, The Assumption School is a Catholic education center that serves more than 700 students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. Its academic curriculum includes math, science, English, social studies, physical education, music, computer technology, language arts and foreign languages, such as Spanish. The school provides fruits , milk, french fries, grilled cheese corns , fish sticks, chicken nuggets and mashed potatoes for lunch. It additionally offers a range of sports activities, including basketball and cheerleading. The school maintains a student council that conducts various field trips and fundraising events. It also offers before- and after-school child care programs. The school s staff includes nurses, facility managers, secretaries, librarians and coaches. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The Assumption School is located in Ansonia, Conn.
