My name is Clarice and I am 78 years young. My husband Herb and I once owned a bar called the PDQ, (which I despised). After that we owned full service stations. With very little help we worked day and night it seemed, and I loved it. I missit to this day. We retired after the last station sold in 1989. Herb and I first met at a town fair. I was with my cousin, and Herb was working there. He quit the fair the day after my cousin and me accepted the invitation. He didn't have $5 at that time and nicknamed me Penny (out of jealousy I'm certain). He has always spent and I'm the saver. Its good too because at our age we need to live modestly. The items for sale at Dollar stores shock me still. How they can sell something for a dollar and make money doing it is beyond me. Today we went to our daughters in Anoka for to visit and we went to the Dollar store. It reminded me of old times when we would work our stores together. And this young gentleman is who helped me to remember. Travis and a lady were so pleasant we invited them to dinner. He helped us load our bags in the car and was so nice I have a hard time describing. Thank you from Herb, Clarice, and Ann.
